...there is only 10% difference in fuel economy between their winner & loser WHEN TOWING 10K pounds.

1) I wouldn't buy a 1/2 ton for towing 10K pounds.
2) THE GMC REQUIRES PREMIUM FUEL! How long do you think that fuel differential is going to take to pay off?

Ridiculous test.

But I do agree with them one one finding.
Dodge Mirrors Suck!

**Those mirrors sucked too, and when I had a Dodge, yes I put flag mirrors on it. :D

They chit on the yota for fuel economy, crappy dash lay out and hard to see and manually use the brake controller, crappy brake pedal feedback, transmission always hunting for gears while towing and it drags its butt when you load the bed up.

Regardless im not buying a half ton to tow that kinda weight anyway. Just thought it was funny, yet another truck test and the tundra doesnt win.

If you can afford to drop 50k on a new half ton truck, an extra $7 for a tank of 93 octane aint chit

I towed 7000 lbs regularly with 1/2 ton trucks. Dodge, chevy, and Ford. All 3 trucks blew the rear ends at about 175k miles. The drive lines and brakes seem to be up to 10k lbs towing but I don't think the axles are in it for the long haul when towing. I think for towing often, the full floating rear axles of the 3/4 ton trucks are needed. Since I have went to 3/4 and 1 tons, I have never had an axle fail.

I've got a '16 Sierra SLT 6.2 on order that will be here in a couple weeks. Can't wait to get it. It's actually a lemon law replacement for my 5.3 2015. While my current Sierra has the max tow package, it doesn't quite have the balls that my EB Ford did. I'll suffer thru the fuel part for the huge difference in power.

Plus, I drive quite a bit and I really don't want the size of a 3/4 ton truck. I can't justify the cost difference for a diesel and the gas 3/4 trucks suffer greatly over the 1/2 tons for daily driving.

Not to mention, I couldn't touch any of the other brands in any size for where I'll end up with the new one money wise.

Sorry to hear about that, what was wrong with the '15 for it to be a lemon?

I'm curious too on the lemon law buy back. I bought (ordered ) a 2015 SLT 4wd with the 6.2 8speed couldn't get max tow at the time last spring. I will say the 8 speed needs refinement very clunky The motor is a beast and I enjoy the truck more than any previous GM truck I've had. They had some updates to the 8 speed on early versions but the dealer states mine operated as normal (typical GM service dept BS)

I second that! I have a '15 Silverado lease that has been awesome.
