Dodge Ram 1500 V6 Pentastar?

Drove one yesterday and liked it. This is for a work truck, no heavy lifting necessary.

Anyone got one? Good/bad?

Side note, drove a Eco diesel.......hated it. Sled slow and reminded me of my Mercedes GL diesel.

Next door neighbor has a single cab 1500 with the Pentastar. His daily driver that he hauls his 25' Bennington pontoon with in the summer. Loves it.

Furd supposed to have a mid '16 release of a 3.0L diesel F-150.

The deals are 5k cheaper than GM/Ford on 4 dr trucks. Pentastar is 305 hp and smooth! 8 spd tranny is ZF and used in a bunch of cars (Rolls Royce Phantom included).

That new 8 speed in the rams is pretty impressive. The penta star definitely isn't any old v6 either. They run pretty good.

Drove a Pentastar in a Wrangler and it was impressive. In a Chrysler 200 it's a tire smoking SOB. A buddy has one with 110,000 miles on it, never a lick of trouble.

We have a couple at work, 2013s with 80-90k, they idle all day some days, other days they cross a few counties. One went in for an issue with a door chime, but other than that it's been oil changes and tires only. The brakes have even held up, and after the brake related experiences we had with a couple Dodge Journeys and Avengers that's the part that surprised me most.

Good to hear!

I bought one tonight. 2015 demo (3000 miles), crew cab 2WD. Sticker 38,315, paid 28K + tax/tag/title.

I've got a Pentastar now in a '16 Wrangler JK. Nice little engine. Plenty of pep even with the 3.21 gears.

I love the truck but the Dodge gremlins are still there. Crew cab rear door, door lock works 50% of the time, door panel rattles on certain songs. Truck has 4800 miles on it. The window switches, door handles feel sloppy/loose so I could foresee them breaking. Love the way it drives/brakes/rides.

Not sure on ram, but have one in a '15 jeep GC... great pairing with the 8 speed... 30 mpg at 70 mpg and plenty of pep round town...

My buddy has 2 Grand Cherokees, a 2011 here and a new one up north. He said the 2011 is good but the new one is awesome.

Well I made it 6 months, 10,500 miles and the Ram is gone. Probably the worst new vehicle I have ever owned! I bought a new Tahoe LT.

Highs:

Dodge rode great, averaged 16.4 mpg over the time I owned it.

Lows:

Seats sucked, rear windows/locks quit working, odd click in front end, oil filter location was a hassle (changed it once) and the electronics in a general were awful. Radio would black out weekly, key would not be recognized in ignition probably every other day. Put any weight in it and it will drag the bumper down the street.

I have had 20+ GM trucks, one Ford and one Dodge. Glad to have another GM (I know what to expect).
