Default 15 Tahoe vs 05 denali

Hello,

I currently have a 05 Denali that I use to occasionally tow my 288 Sunsation. I am looking at a 2015 Tahoe LTZ and am wondering if there will be any difference in towing capability.

Thank you,

Lou

Be aware that the third row seats fold but not flat.

Thank you for responding. I'm curious if towing with the all wheel drive is better then two wheel the size of the motor, I think they are both the same power.

I know about the third seat. I prefer Th have the bench for the second row instead of the captain chairs. It seems like there is less storage.

I'm towing my 255 Formula Liberator at 7500# with my 2016 Yukon ...Max Tow Package. Max Tow gets you 3:42 vs 3:08 and 8500# in 2WD....as well as Air Ride.

I previously Towed this rig with a '05 Escalade ESV AWD. Seriously...with the 3:42 and 6 speed the Yukon w/5.3 Direct Injection bests the Escalade all the way around in my opinion. I am really impressed how well the 2WD Posi handles wet ramps and wet roads.

If you can find what you're looking for with Max Tow vs Standard Equipment...jump on it. I drove both and it DOES make a difference. I run between 500#~600# at the tongue and will say the standard rear shocks and springs sag about 2" w/o Air Ride.

The 2nd row bench is the way to go...the seat back reclines. I'm 6-2/250 and have plenty of room in the second row. Third row is useless if you older than 6 years old !!! I would remove it if wife would let me...but Grand Kids, Nieces, Nephews...you know the drill. LOL

The other plus for the 2015 is the Gas Mileage. I get 23+ running 80 on the highway 17 in town. Haven't checked it towing..but I'm not towing all the time. I never got better than 16 open road with the Escalade.

Thanks, I feel confident now. I have not seen a LTZ with a bench seat. The car I'm looking at is certified with low miles and is a great price. Is there a way to put the bench seat in place of the two chairs?

From what I have read it's a direct bolt in swap. Check with your dealer...they may have one laying around that someone swapped out. You might press hard and have them make it part of your deal.....you will be surprised to find out what these guys will do sometimes to make a sale. LOL

As far as any differences in the leather...Our Yukon is a SLE model that came with Fabric seats. We wanted leather but didn't want to pay the $10K difference to move up to the SLT package for leather and didn't care about the Sunroof. So for 2K they sent it to a High End custom shop here in Ft. Lauderdale and matched Cocoa Dune Leather on ALL seats for $2K !! Looks exactly like Denali or SLT...the even put the seat side Air Bags in their proper location. Check out Katzskin Leather...you can get just about anything you want.

Good Luck!!

Why do you think the captain chips give less storage then the bench? I have had both in Suburbans and Yukon XL. Folded down there is a couple of more small places to stuff things with the captain chairs.

I have the XL with heavy duty tow package and it hauls the Velocity VR 1 easily.

Hello,

The idea of buying a sle and upgrading is a good idea. As for storage the xl is so much bigger the the regular Yukon or Denali. There have been times that I have taken four people with me and they fit on the bench seat and the supplies fit in back. If I had to fit seven people I could.

I understand. I rarely haul more then two people so the captain seats work for me.
