The problem isn't so much towing as it is stopping in a hurry. It was like night and day when I went from a 2500 Suburban(6,500lbs) to a 2500HD Duramax pickup(8100lbs).

Did this 35 miles a few years back. Less weight than what you are looking to tow. Did OK for the short distance on flat land. Would not have towed it to LOTO (300 miles + hills).

Definitely NOT.
Will it tow? sure, but stopping it in a hurry will be a white knuckle experience with you and the truck loosing. |
How did this turn out?
I was thinking about a similar situation but I have a 5.4 in my F150 and I am rated for over 11,000#'s but that is listed for a weight distributing hitch, 5000 without. I am not sure what kind of difference that would make with a double or triple axle trailer...? I also have a buddy that pulls a 32 dominator with a Ram 1500 Hemi and it pulls just fine. |
I pulled a 32 Dominator from the Sunsation factory to Metro Beach with a '03 Avalanche and that was too far IMO.

Nothing I would be interested doing...too scary...:fear:
