Pretty sure the one I had was rated to 11K.

I should also add that I had a trip with it and my toy hauler which weighed about 10K loaded up w water and a raptor 700 and KFX450. Harder to tow w more resistance, and heavier than my boat

3:73 truck did great, but it had good trailer brakes and the built in electronic controller did a great job.

Would a 3/4 be better - yes- but this thing is as good or better than gas 3/4 tons we're 10 years ago.

Im wondering what the newer more powerful unit with the 10 speed will be like.

Been an employee for over 30 years with Ford. It will tow and stop with no problem..

Yes, people that make the blanket statement that you need to haul everything with a 3/4 ton diesel and that all 1/2 tons are junk for towing aren't caught up on the latest tow ratings.

My 2013 F-150 Ecoboost is rated to 11,400. Would I tow that much regularly? Probably not, I wouldn't do it with my friend's 90s Cummins that's rated for the same either because it stops terrible compared to the F-150. But I wouldn't hesitate to tow 9-10k on occasion.
