It looks like Ford still hasn't fully baked (pun intended) their DPF system, even on this 2017:

In all seriousness, what's causing these DPF fires on Fords?
It doesn't sound like Cummins or Duramaxs are having this problem. DPF fires have been blamed for quite a few grass/brush fires, and if you were stuck in traffic next to Corvette or another car without a metal body, you would literally catch the car on fire (aside from just doing paint damage or perhaps melting a bumper).

Ford doesn't have dpf fires! This was one above got a def tank full of diesel. I believe the dealer did it and bought it back. I'm really surprised this truck would run with the exhaust that hot too. These trucks shut down instantly if there is a egt sensor failure or exhaust issue.

Thank you for sharing. I see how that could cause the problem, but didn't know anyone was actually that stupid. I could see how a lot porter, or even one of the full service attendance in NJ figure out a way to mess that up.
I've never been to a truck stop in NJ. Do they have mandatory full service for big rigs there too?

Just hauled a tractor about 150 miles. 12,000 lb trailer Did OK. Rear is a little soft but I'm adding bags as soon as the kit is available. I did have to gusset the stock hitch though. The hitch flex on my first tow was way too crazy. Just two short pieces of 3" channel. 3 hrs drop the hitch, weld er up, back up and bolted on.
