A friend is selling his 2000 XKR..
The wife has been bugging me for several yrs for a Rag. It's got 60k on it. New rubber and repaint(I will get more info on this)
What do you guys think? The price seems pretty good compared to ones on autotrader.
I have heard older Jags need expensive parts n repairs. I am sure newer ones are $$$ to if repairs are needed. But hell it can't be as bad as GoFast 😎
Just looking for some opinions.
Thanks Q

My aunt had an XK conv when they were new (2004 ish). Car looked great, no real issues but the windows had that 1/4 inch down mechanism when you opened the door (BMW has it also). On the Jag if you opened the door too fast it would catch on the convertible top causing the door to "grab" for a second. It aggravated me enough that I wouldn't buy the car! She got smoked when she traded it (I think she lost 35-40K on that car).
I saw one sell on Bringatrailer recently that was in beautiful shape and I think it sold for 10-12K.

They did have some Bore problems early on, but most engines were replaced under warranty. Here is some good info. I would not be scared to own one.

Well we passed. Interior was pretty worn. Surprising for just 60 K.
I think I have her talked into the 911 Rag as long as we get Tip trans I guess lol

For what it's worth, we had a 2002 Jag XJR - it was a nice car all things considered. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one but as was mentioned you need to buy them fully depreciated. I've never seen a car depreciate like they do.
