Myco winch stand
 

Have the boat & trailer for a year now and although the trailer pulls great the first thing I want
to update this winter is the winch stand. It's way to tall and even hasrder to crank....Where do
I shop to replace with a more modern low slung winch stand?...................thanks, Scippy

Nice ride. By the way that's not a winch stand. That's a high rise building. Couple of options. Call MYCO for one big $$, get some pics and have a local welder make you new one, look around OSO or craigslist for one, Manning or other trailer builders or shops. Good luck

Not sure what you'll be able to do with the position of the bow eye being so high on the boat.

Also, it looks like the front V bunk is hitting the front chines, which is not good.

Looks like it needs another set of bunks. Like they would do on a stepped Hull

With some dialing in you can get your trailer set-up for much easier use and to store your boat properly. As Griff mentioned your bow eye is extremely high for some reason. If it were mine I would want bunks for the bow to support the boat correctly. MYCO will dial it in for you but will be expensive. Any good trailer builder can get it done for you. You need to do more than just lower the winch stand. Around this end of the Great Lakes we have Manning and Loadmaster trailer builders.

Agree, with the bow eye being so high you don't want to lower the winch. If its lower the bow will pulled down which increases trouble for getting the stern all the way on. Then when the boat comes out of the water the boat will st down and increase the strain on the winch assembly. Also agree need a set of bunks further forward to help

Guys, the bow eye is in the factory location but the support V is above the eye instead of below it as most are. I agree on the forward bunking being needed for support, Sorry Skippy not meaning to highjack, good luck with the search

Looks like the trailer was not made for that boat. The boat model it was made for is stamped in the winch stand somewhere. If you call myco and give them the vin they will tell you what it was made for. I bought a used myco out of state that was supposed to be for a formula and it was actually for a blackfin fishing boat. Called myco and they were not interested at all in converting it for a different boat. I had the same problem with my winch stand a cut about a foot out of it to lower the winch and it works great. The bunks stands on mine needed to be cut off and new ones were made. Jeff wurl

And yes, you need to add a set of forward support bunks around the forward section of the keel. That 'stand' down there is no good. I did this two trailers ago, and it was not hard.

Just bought a trailer from Loadmaster this year. Mine is high also, and during the setup they made the point to make sure the winch should be even if not a bit higher then the bow eye.

My guess is the winch could be mounted lower and then use a roller and guide to bring the strap up higher
