I drilled a little hole at the aft end of each one and put a loop of 1/4 rope through it. This added the visual indicator to make sure I grabbed them, and also made it super easy to pull them off. 4 things to do at the rear of the boat when arriving at ramp: 1) Plugs 2) Transom Straps 3) Prop covers 4) Drive clips. When I remove the drive clips and the transom straps, I store each side on respective prop covers and laid them in the back of the truck. |

On my 37AT, the drive indicators were in the way on one side of each drive, so I just put the one clip on each drive. No issues at all over 12+ years of doing such on the AT. |

If you shave down one of the trailering clips, you can actually get it inside of the indicator and onto the ram. But I found that 1 for each drive was fine. |

About 1" from the FORWARD/Lower/(closest to transom) end of the Clip, drill a hole about 3/8" in diameter, and tie a ~16" long piece of cotton string/rope though it in a loop. This will allow you to grab the loop with your hand, and snatch the clip off the ram quite easily. You will more than likely have to trim the drive clips when they arrive to the proper length for your setup. Obviously, trim the flat end. Cut them about 1/2" shorter than full drive trim extension. Then you can install them easily, and lower the drive trim onto the clips to support the weight. When you are ready to remove, you need to bump the drive trim up, so you can remove them. Of note: you don't want to KEEP your drives trimmed out if you don't have to; as it's bad for the belows. Once you get home, and park the boat until next use, pull the trailering clips. They rest nicely on the trim tabs, or you can use the loop you installed to hang them from the drive pins which also works. |
