haul rite trailer
 

Buying a trailer for my Formula 382. I am planning on selling this boat and have no trailer for it. I want a good trailer for the next owner but don't want to over spend just to buy the best. Haul Rite trailers are built in Missouri by me so I was wondering what everyone thought.

I have no experience with Haul Rite trailers, but I did get a price from Ed for one for my 35 Fountain and their price was higher than Loadmaster and about the same as Manning,,,so not sure if your going to save any money going with them.

I have a Haul rite (not currently used) and a Load Master (OH make) and both are decent trailers, but they are no where near custom trailers. They both don't make the trailer for a specific boat, they are adjustable.

They make a nice trailer at a great price. If they are near you then they will custom make it to the boat and make sure it fits. Id go with it

Have you advertised the boat for sale yet?
I don't think I'd make the decision for the next buyer. Some folks are real particular about their trailers.
Some folks ONLY want steel, because they never leave inland lakes/fresh water, and if they did; they don't mind paying someone to lift on/off the trailer.
Other folks (like myself) would ONLY buy an aluminum trailer because I want/need the flexibility to launch/load anywhere. Also, having owned both bolt-together and welded aluminum; I would ONLY want welded.

Try advertising first, before you stroke a check for a trailer; and add that to the bottom line. State in your ad that you have a trailer manufacturer near you, and how long it would take the builder to whip one up for you.

Prestige went under back in 2008 and their assets were bought by Heritage. They WERE good trailers but in the final year of production, the quality was questionable. Like they were emptying the parts shelves and just using whatever they had left.

Call Rend Lake Marina and speak to Dave (618) 724-7651. They gave me the best price I could find anywhere on a heritage trailer for my boat. I priced numerous steel trailers and they were way cheaper than anyone. Also you can pick the trailer up directly from Heritage if you like. Hope this helps.
