While the mirrors are not my favorite part on the Ram, they are far and away better than the offering on the new Fords. I will take function over form every day of the week, and twice on Sunday. if you guys could shoot me your email addresses, that would be great! I need to know where to forward my payment invoices. |

In what position are they better than the Fords? I always figured everyone leaves them up or out because in that mode they are at least similar to the Fords.
The up-to-2016 Ford mirrors were great. But the 2017+ mirrors are noticeably smaller. The high end trucks with the cameras and blind spot detection make up for that. But not all of the Fords benefit from such. I have zero complaints on the GM (bigger) mirrors. They are fantastic. |
I've never towed with dodge to say anything about the visibility with them up or down but I hate passing one on a narrow road when they have them up and sticking out 6 ft. I have a 16 350 and have never seen a need to extend the mirrors for the boat. Now Brian get that new ride set up and post some pics.

This is the only Silver Southfork I've seen; just found it yesterday after I ordered mine. I can't stop looking at it!
I did not order DRW, and this one has the optional "Filigree" etching into the leather which I did not want. But the pictures really show how unique and awesome the interior is. It blows away the other options on the market. My 2nd gripe with Ford was you can't get the King Ranch or Limited in Silver. The 1st is the turning radius/diameter. Else I would have probably gone with the Ford. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F22 2728178701 I just got a new F-450 Limited and the turning radius is the best I’ve ever had in a big truck. I absolutely love this thing. |
Nice truck and Congrats!! Now when you need a real truck to tow something I will let you use mine again. :D

I can’t tell y’all how much I love this truck! The more weight you have behind it, the better the power delivery with the AISIN transmission. It tows REALLY well. I had it tinted, pulled the BSM off of it, and also had it ceramic coated. The water literally jumps off the paint. I can’t wait for my lift to come in so the bigger wheels and tires can go on. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...80761177b.jpeg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...b2bba56b7.jpeg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...9f10af412.jpeg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...aebd2e093.jpeg |
Looking sweet!! You're gonna love the Carli suspension upgrade. I just did a Thuren suspension on my 2006, and its night and day. Im debating doing the ceramic coating as well. I was told it lasts 5yrs, just wash it, no need to wax again. Being that mine is not a DD and stays in the garage, id imagine it would last longer tho. I got a quote for approx 1k to do it. Was told they wipe down entire truck with alcohol to strip any and all wax off and touch up any paint chips.

What is the BSM?
(see post 34) I actually paid extra for it (option), as I didn't know if I would like it or not. I thought it may break up the side of the truck and make it look less of a "work truck". But it was cheap material, put on with even cheaper foam tape, and it was not sealed on the ends. It had sand and grit already behind it, and some of the foam tape was already saturated and holding water against the body. I pulled off some of the badges as well. |
Congrats on the truck.... its not a Duramax.... but WTH.....
Us go fast guys ***** and moan about pontoons... then we go out on one and drink 17 beers..... |
We just took in a 2011 Ford F-350 Black King Ranch dually crew cab Diesel with 80K mi. Like new in and out.

I've always had trepidation about buying a new vehicle, for fear of having buyer's remorse after you see the new model that comes out.
Well, relieved to say I am pleased with the truck that I bought as this is the -2019 Ram Laramie Longhorn "Ram Rodeo" edition which replaces the -2018 Ram Laramie Longhorn Southfork edition that I custom ordered. They have done away with the two-tone seats, and added black to brown and tan interior. That latter part I don't get at all. After just seeing a few pictures/videos and knowing that you can't get it in Silver for 2019 either; I am super pleased with my purchase decision. I have seen the 2019 Ram 1500 too with it's new interior and such that will make it to the 2500/3500 for model year 2020, and I'm not impressed with that either.
