Which truck for towing BT or 370SS F250|F450|IH
We have some lifestyle changes going on and looking for some input on tow vehicles. We just bought a 40ft fifth wheel camper and currently have a Sonic 31SS. The wife and i are looking at upgrading to a BT or Formula 370SS in the next 1-2 years and I want to start getting trucking in place. We don't tow often but I want to be safe when I do. From Kentucky we travel to Kentucky Lake often (2 hour interstate drive); Lake Cumberland occasionally (2 hour drive); Ozarks about once a year (7 hour drive)
TOW ITEMS
*40FT CAMPER 15K loaded - fifth wheel
*31SS 13K loaded
*BT 17-19K loaded
*370SS - 20-22K loaded (from what I have read)
TRUCK OPTIONS
*I currently have a 2015 F250; I would keep it as my daily driver and buy a 2001 International 4700/Allison/DT The IH needs some work but could be a good option for under 30k
*Upgrade my current 2015 F250 SRW to a 2019 F350/450 DRW.
* Other options
The 2019 F350 DRW has a hitch haul of 21K\fifth wheel 27500\gooseneck 31600 - GCWR 40,000
The 2019 F450 DRW has a hitch haul of 21k\fifth wheel 27500\gooseneck 32500 - GCWR 42,800
The 2019 F350 SRW has a hitch haul of 13k\fifth wheel 18000\gooseneck 20000 - GCWR 28,400
I know the sportchassis are the latest craze but I can't see dropping 80-120k on one of these units today. I also have a company involved in trucking so Im not overly worried about CDL or maintenance requirements. Part of me is leaning towards the F350DRW but I would love to be able to get through a car wash still which pushes me towards the 2001 International I could buy.

Go drive a Ford F450. You will likely dump your 2015 F250 as your DD; as you find it will turn better.
I'm all for having purpose built toys/tools/trucks; but I'm also trying to simplify my life at this point. That would be my choice.
Keep an eye on JW's site, as he always has inventory of the big stuff floating in and out. He currently has a couple of big haulers. JW is an OSO member.

This was my chief complaint about the 2017+ Ford CC LB in the F-350 or F-250 trim, as they stretched the wheelbase and it really hurt the turning radius & diameter.
NOT so on the F-450 due to the way that front axle articulates. IF I wanted another DRW truck, I would have bought the F-450 for this attribute. However, I ended up buying a 2018 Ram 3500 CC LB SRW.

I pull my 43 tall deck with an 18 ccsb srw Duramax Denali. Never an issue or scary moment. I’ve owned several dually’s prior and did not see the benefit to buy another one. Side note: I know 2 other people with exact same toe rigs as mine that haul 43 GTs extensively with no issues.

Had a 17 F350 regular cab got a 32Outlaw truck was to small. Traded and got a 18 F350 crewcab KingRanch on 35’s and its so much better. The added weight and longer chassis max a huge difference. All the power you want plus some. If rear tire blew you still have 1 more.
