If you can do the Duramax i definitely would. I have a heavier boat but if you need the power down the road its there. I won't be going back to gas as long as there is a boat to pull.

Thank you for all the input guys. If I go the Duramax route, it will be an 06 or 07. I'm at the point now that i know i won't be wanting a bigger boat, I've had way bigger boats and am completely 100% satisfied with my Warlock. Then again, all of us boaters are equally full of **** when we say we don't plan on upgrading, lol. I ALWAYS enjoy having overkill with a truck tho anyway, and it seems like I'm always conned into pulling something huge for someone anyway. Can you get a 1/2 ton with a 6.2 in it other then a Sierra Denali? I love those trucks, but don't like the AWD and not having switchable 2wd/4wd. I'll keep my eyes out and let y'all know what I end up finding, gonna be a few weeks probably tho, not really in a rush, just giving myself a reward for quitting smoking after 19 years, hell the truck payment will be less then smokes! Haha

After 2015 you can find SLT 1500 Sierra's with the 6.2 8 speed and 4wd (selectable Hi/Lo), They are much more rare than 5.3's but they exist. I had to order mine in March 2015 when they first became available.

I had an '08 Duramax prior to my current '16. I put 110K on it with zero issues. Only thing I ever replaced was a glow plug. I also had a 6" lift on that beast and it was 100% reliable.

I currently have 2014 F-150 Ford with the 6.2L (Platinum, not Raptor; daily driver) and also a 2018 Ram 3500 Cummins for hauling. I recently towed a buddy's Baja 25' Outlaw about 40 miles. I could feel after the tow that surge brakes on the Baja's trailer definitely heated up the brakes on the Ford. They went back to normal, but I have to say, if you are towing anything more than a pair of jet skiis, regularly, go with at least a 3/4 ton and a diesel; from any of the brands. Assuming many folks get a CC/SB regardless of truck size or brand, they all operate relatively the same when it comes to parking lot handling and the size of the truck; when NOT towing (grocery store, errands, etc). I've had 4 different trucks with the 8.1L, two Avalanche 2500s, and two 2500HD w/ the Allison. Given you are used to that power, again, go with a diesel.

I tow a Baja 272 with a ‘13 LTZ that came with the 5.3 and 3.08 gears and it does just fine, but the 3/4 ton would be much more comfortable.

Thanks for all the input everybody! Just in case anyone is still following or wondering what i made my decision on, I'm picking this up on Saturday. It's a 2013 Silverado 2500 Duramax 4wd crew cab Texas Edition. Way newer then what i was looking at originally, but after sifting through everything, this is definitely what I'm after. It's a lot harder then I thought to find a clean Duramax that isn't lifted and built up and ran into the ground! This one is 100% bone stock, with zero rust what so ever. Ill be deleting the DPF/DEF system, probably the EGR, and tune it, but that's about it. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...9da5557a1b.png
Already stopped by the bank today, can't wait to go get it this weekend!

Great looking truck! White was always my go to color. I tow my 32 with a deleted 2012. You are correct, a good one is hard to find at a decent price. A cheap nice one doesn’t exist lol. I like a stock suspension also. Ride better and factory components last longer. I have become wiser in my older year(I’m 31 lol). Let me know if you have any questions about that truck, I may be able to help.
