I have the 6.2 in my Yukon with 430hp and 470ftlbs with the 8 speed and 12 bolt diff and it tows my 7000lb boat with a full load of passengers amazing. It has the same drive train as the MAX tow package in the Sierra rated at 11,500lbs. My biggest problem is not lighting up the tires when taking off. With LT tires, Baer brake kit, Intake, exhaust and a mild tune it gets 21mpg going 80 unloaded and 13/14 mpg towing. It came with the Magnetic ride system which really works well controlling roll and sway. The auto level control works so well I even pulled the boat forward to put more weight on the tongue for traction and the ride is perfect even on Michigan roads. It's not a 3500 diesel, but it really performs above it's weight class. It's not something most would consider as an option but it tows better than many bigger trucks I've been in even with the shorter wheel base.

That is good performance from that engine. We traded my Wife's yukon with the 6.2 on an ecoboost expedition. It was like going from a muscle car to a diesel. We really liked the gm 6.2 but some other issues made us shy away from another gm. I have a deliver date of 11/12/19 now, not sure how much faith I will put in to that. If this Ford 6.2 runs as good as the gm 6.2 I think we will be happy with it.

First thing I did was switch to a K&N air filter. That was worth almost 2 mpg. I then added an Airaide intake tube. I also went with a Gibson exhaust, it was the only 3.5” I could find. They dyno’d it on Yukon Denali and got 22hp. I’ve also done some tuning with HP Tuner software. I also swapped out all oils for Amsoil. As far as how I drive, I’m pretty much in bat out of hell mode. I have 275/60R20 BFG KO2’s and i get rubber in second and sometimes third. I’ve hit 130 so far and still pulling hard. I push freeway ramps so hard, that I have to brake to come down to 80. In Ohio where speeds are slower I get 24+ mpg. I just did a trip to the west side of the state and back and got 19.4mpg city and highway and that includes idle time which was a lot with construction.

Our yukon with the non-mds 6.2 would get 17 mpg when we first got it, as it got up there in miles it was trending closer to 15mpg with my wife driving every day. I always thought that was pretty good for a 400hp awd suv. The 1/2 ton hemi dodge I currently daily drive gets 12 at best. I'm hoping this new 6.2 ford will get at least 12 but from what i'm hearing it may do a little better. I know a good every day tune can help with mpg and clean up the torque management issues along with better shift strategies.

October 21 production week, that seems a little far out there considering it was ordered July 26th.

Our ordered 19 F-350 Finally made it in last week. It was worth the wait. The 6.2 has more low end torque than what I was expecting. With the 4.30 gears it cruises along at 65mph @2k rpm effortlessly. Still haven't hooked on to anything with it yet but time will tell.
