There are so many "what ifs" in this situation. What if the propane tanks usually stored on the front of those style campers got punctured and blew up? What if the load in the bed was heavy and that blew threw the cab rear window and upset the "balance?" Story had a happy ending but there had to be a lot of "come to Jesus" talks in that cab while they waited on rescue. Imagine being a rescuer and something goes wrong and you end up watching that thing tumble to the ground! Florida just had this crash, moving car gets hit by a plane crashing short of the airport by literally 50 feet! All caught on a doorbell camera! Sadly 2 in the plane and a 4 yr old in the SUV all died. Sadly when its your day, its your day! |
Next time I hook up the trailer, I'm checking the cables and their attachment point. I have very heavy cables instead of chains, I think my weak link is the bolt that holds them to the trailer frame. I drive a lot and I have more than my share of accidents. I've seen a few that were hanging off the guard rail, although not like this.
