But the dealer said it was a good tow vehicle.

What does a 36 Gladiator weigh?

My parents had a ‘74 dodge challenger that they bought new in the day. They had several smaller boats and then a 1978 19.5 ft Glastron with a 350 engine. They had a tow ball mounted to a chrome square bracket mounted to the rear bumper, that outlined the license plate with some supporting metal that went back to the frame rails. The vehicle had air shocks. Got many miles towing. While I’m too young to recall all this, the stories are that the challenger did struggle at times to get up various boat ramps. Non the less, they hauled that boat around with that vehicle.

Photoshop'ed for sure.
In the early 90's I, towed my 18' Carlson with my 82 Z-28 many times. Even made a few beach launches when ramps were closed. Only 165 hp but the Crossfire had good low end torque. |

https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...310b4e2af.jpeg My brother had the same car many years ago. He towed a 19’ Stephens Vee-drive (similar style ski boat) with it and said it towed beautifully. Unfortunately, his car/boat weren’t color matched like this one, looks great. RR |

Weight about 12000 to 15000lbs with trailer a guess ? Not safe and impossible in my mind?

Wish I had some pic's, but I had a 72 Corvette convertible that I bought from a friend. He had a matching Ranger bass boat he towed with it all the time. I towed a street rod luggage trailer with it a few times on vacation trips with it before I removed the hitch. It had a 350 that was modified and a 400 trans. Pulled like a mule!

I know the exact hitch you describe as that was the factory hitch design for the early S10 Blazers, of which we had two of them. The hitch on my Lincoln is an OEM Lincoln hitch, which bolts to the bottom of the bumper and a couple spots in the frame. https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...9Q&oe=65BCF257 |
