Something else to ponder.
Is the Dealer where you by the bike going to be around to service it after the sale? I've seen many of them close down after a short period of time or change to other brands. If you need warranty work done are they going to fix it or give you a big run around about it? I can't speak for all of the custom builders but some don't want to pay the dealers for the time they put in on fixing problems. If you are away from home on the bike and you need parts to repair it or have it worked on who is going to do it? It is not like your going to take your custom bike to a Harley shop to be repaired on the road because the ones around here will tell you to get lost. It is tough to match up parts on customs because you have no parts book to reference to get the parts you need. You can walk into just about any HD shop in the country and get what you need and be on your way. I know this because I had a 98 Ultra Ground Pounder. At the time I thought the company and dealer gave very poor support for their product. I had Harleys before it and after it and like the fact that if I need something for the bike it is easily obtainable. Don't get me wrong, I still love the looks of a custom bike. I just wanted to put my input in so you can check out the dealer to make sure they will be there for you in the future. Cordell |

These bikes are pretty cool. You can buy them as a kit with everything including the oil and save a few thousand dollars.

This bike is from Bikers Blvd., about 10 minutes from my house. They have a Sportster I've been thinking about.

Big Dog
Wow, Thanks for the response. I have looked at WCC, and OCC They want big $$$$ for something I will use a couple times a month. You can now order the Big Dogs with bigger motors but I want the new 124 ss which they don't offer. The exhaust, wheels would be the first items to be removed among many other things. I hate when builders put polished with chrome, everything needs to be chrome. Well I hope I have a nice project completed in July, this is how long it will take Big Dog and the shop here to complete the bike.
Thanks, Dustyn |
