Personally, I'd look at a Thunder Mountian, built from a H-D Softail and customized but still receives a full factory Harley warranty. MOST of(note I said most) of the aftermarket bikes, choppers have junk electrical systems,(overloaded single wire systems, crappy connections), whereas the Thunder Mountian uses all stock wiring.

I have a 06 Big Dog K-9 , right hand drive, 117 inch S&S, had the heads and cams changed , I really like my bike, very well balanced and just comfortable to ride ( it is a softtail)

Looked at everything under the sun during bike week. I really liked the Big Dogs, but ultimately bought a Big Bear Merc.
I ride with a friend wiho has a Big Dog K-9. He's had no issues.

I have had many issues with the electrical system on my Texas Chopper. Finally ripped it all out and re-did everything. Also a problem with my starter and carb. But that is really not an American Ironhorse problem I guess, though they do assemble them. Also blew out both of my compression things (can't remember what they were called) in the center of the cylinders. Mine now sits in the "I don't want to play with you anymore" area aka the basement.
Think I would buy a used low mileage LSC if I were to get another. You lose so much $$ when you buy them new, however I think the chopper craze has died down a bunch so I really don't kow what they are getting for them these days...$35? maybe for a new Texas C.

I have to say I like the branding of the HD Thunder Mountain bikes. Never heard of them till this thread. The HD reliability, parts availability, accesories, and that just about anyone anywhere can work on it. There's a nice one on eBay right now. Not sure how important the right side drive and six speed tranny really is.
