For the past two weekends I have been fixing sleds. My daughter has rear-ended me twice and broke my tail light both times  . The guy at the parts counter keeps them in stock just for me. My son has hit just about every tree in town  . He now rides a ski-doo formula duck tape special.

Gotta have sleds to make the winter fun. Rode around 1800 miles this year. I would take sledding over boating as far as an adrenaline rush but you just don't get too many hotties up north unless you bring your own.
If I had to give one of the hobbies up it would be the boat.

I ride a 03 700 Pro X.

RA,
Why the surprise ? :D The only reason I have a "go fast" boat is the rush (plus they look cool and sound cool) otherwise I'd have a cruiser.
There is no comparison between a sled an anything else except for a crotch rocket or car on a road course or running an offshore race. All big money. Sure for the people that have to go 100+ it won't happen on a sled .
Think about it ,the average sled will run mid 11's ,a well tuned big bore (I'm not talking drag sleds) will run well into the 10's , now picture that on a trail that is 8-10' wide with corners and it's sometimes smooth and sometimes it's got 3 ' moguls. The rush last's as long as you can hold on.
Ask fellow board member Rambunctious, we were running on an incredible trail along the northern coastline of the UP. We were running between 85-100mph (he was about 3 ft off of my rear bumper) going into these big sweepers (there was enough room to see traffic coming the other way) at 85 and coming out WOT. We did this for about 10 miles , he did through a wicked NASCAR style pass in at the end . Earlier that day he told me he held his sled WOT for something like 12 miles. I'm getting a rush just writing this and remember that ride. I wish everyone could try snowmobiling , they would be hooked.
Sorry I got carried away there  I'm sure as soon as I get the boat out of storage I will completely forget about riding. I'm just really bored right now !

26, Now,.. Agreed that does sound like a blast. I've only ridden 1 sled in my 41 years and it was fun. I just hate cold weather....bad enough my wife likes the "change of seasons" CRAP!!! My friend just bought a 29 Scarab and he is into sleds.....said we were going up to Old Forge this winter but it never worked out....maybe next year :D

Well, this is what one of my drunk buddies did to pass time one night at my cabin    :drink: :drink: The funny thing(or bad thing, you decide) is I SOLD HIM THAT SLED 6 hrs before it was turned to junk and his wife scolded me saying "he'll only wreck it,joe can't have nothing nice!! Well,i guess that was a self fulfilling prophecy!!!
