There is s plug under the seat to get rid of the seatbelt chime, it is a two prong one, not the powwer one that is wrapped in black conduit. the other bell for the key only goes off if you leave the key in the truck and open the door or if the door is opened and lights are left on. There also is a reminder bell if you are driving and a turn signal is left on for a certain amount of time, I have found that one to be useful:rolleyes:...Good luck with it and put the radio fuse back in.

Already tried that,worked fine on my last truck,but on this one the only 2 prong plug I could find killed the heated seats.It was a small green plug that I was sure went to the seatbelt base,but apparently not. I could handle the ignition key chime,I always pull the key out slightly from the habit of owning GM trucks for years,but the seatbelt deal is just too much. I'll take another look under the seat.Thanks for the advice.

they have been located in a couple places, like lawnmowers with pressure sensitive seats, and sometime in the seat belt themselves. try both of em good luck:)

Found it,there was another 2 prong plug in the same harness,hard to find but I got it.Seat belt chimes are history,radio is back,I can handle the ignition switch. Thanks,OffshoreDrillin,OSO comes thru again :drink:

Between the "black box" and OnStar, big brother knows, or can know, everything about your driving habits! :eek:

There's no way now to prove through the reading of the blackbox that that position was belted, say...when an airbag went off.

You'd be better off to get rid of the chime source itself, or jump that plug across if possible to make it think you are belted when the ignition is on.

your welcome Robert, glad I could help. Onstar doesnt have anything that can sense seatbelts, their sensors are directly involved with the deployment of airbags. From what I was told the airbag sensors hit a panic button which triggers onstar. I would look for onstar to put lojack out of business soon, as they can disable the car as well as track it.

the OnStar bit was a joke...
though it's only a matter of time till they are watching you...speed and all. :eek:

but the black box event recorder will know about the belt circuit...
