keep your foot out of it...

most programmers have a fuel economy setting or a lower setting that would net you some gains... plus you can wick it up when you want to roast the tires off it.....

Pretty much all chips add miliage if you can do what Sean H said and keep from hot rodding. I like the banks stuff for the fords. Go with the six gun and new exhaust and you will be set. It has six settings for power and get the exhaust it will help alot.

5" exhaust and an aftermarket air filter.

Problem is, that increased performance will make you want to use it so whatever you gain will probably go straight down the drain.

Thgere's really only one way to see mileage increases- don't drive around town and don't drive over 60. Diesels aren't fuel efficient in varying RPM applications and that truck punches a big hole thru the air.

I was talking with a friend in the tire industry who suggested filling the tires with nitrogen instead of compressed air. They apparrently do this in the semi trucks. Less dense, runs cooler, and one customer with an Excursion reported 6 more miles per gallon!

Anybody have experience with this on medium/light duty trucks?

Fuel economy sucks if you run more than 75 mph. This last trip i started drafting people and semi's. Im sure it was annoying but I was getting about 3-4 mpg better.

I get about 14.5 city and 18.x highway with my 04 6.0L 4x4 with the Super Chips tuner. It runs so good that it is really hard not to drive it hard.

intake and exhaust kit, with a free flowing muffler, also helps with egts, a lower power module like banks or edge where you can adjust it. Bad part is with the new mods you will drive the crap out of it till you get used to it and the rumble from the exhaust, good part is after you break it all in you should gain some better mpgs, just have to get past the first couple of weeks when you do the mods.
