more bs advertising from harley davidson

all the cycle rags are running adds by harley touting the vance and hines screaming eagle v rods that were dominating pro stock bike early last season. the add states that harley won the championship even after the nhra had harley add 40lbs to thier bikes as though it were an unfair advantage for the rest of the in four cylinder bikes...like they were being penalized for being so bad azz. the add fails to state that nothing at all on the bike comes from a harley davidson parts bin, sreaming eagle parts bin, or any of the asian companies that supply h-d with the majority of oem parts... it also fails to mention the the harleys are 2600cc to the in fours 1400 to 1500 cc bikes. the 1100cc advantage given to harley was too much so the nhra added 40 lbs to the v twins to try to level the playing field, but i don't think it was enough. the 2600cc v twins are infants and have a lot of devlopment coming the inline fours have been around and gains come more slowly on an older design as people have alreay tried every way imaginable to increase performance where the new v twins will quilkly get quicker and faster. so before you race down to your harley dealer, remember that in the real wolrd the average 600cc jap bike will still humiliate a harley with out breakin a sweat :D

I used to love pulling up beside someone on a $35,000 custom that thought it was fast. Then all they would see was the bike tire on my CBR900. 25% of the cost and twice as fast :D I enjoyed my harley also but there is nothing like 13,000 RPM's on a jap bike...exhilarating :evilb:

I'm not a bike guy but I put a deposit on one yesterday. I haven't seen it in person but from the photos It looks bad! I know it's not a Harley but I like it. It has won a few shows. It has a 2100 CC engine. Not sure how fast it is. Any comments?

I was thinking the same thing. The guy says it is more comfortable then it it looks. The builder is pretty famous. I have someone going to look at it in person on Tuesday. He knows more about bike then I will ever know.
