Hey Bill you splash that thing yet?

BTW: You need to modify that avatar lingo, it was a 1996 32 when I bought it, and a 1996 32 when I sold it to you. You get one of those upgrade VIN plates or something? :D

1HYPER1 07-02-2007 09:32 PM

I fixed it,I never noticed that.:D I am splashing it tommorrow, and starting with a new base line like turning the props out instaed of in as well as tow in and out differences and see what happens. One thing is for sure the transom will not leak and the total re rig looks sweet.I will post some pictures soon.

Hey, I always like to one-up on everyone!:D

1HYPER1 07-04-2007 11:38 PM

Hey Vinny,I am gonna 1 up ya,my boat is done and it does not leak.:D I ran it today92 MPH at 5200 RPM and 1000 RPM left to go per engine, felt solid and stable. It was a little windy and very rough,3 to 4s but was stable.OH Did I mention dry,a little 5200 goes a long way. Quality control.

PS I did not take to many photos from start to finish, just think of drift wood to brand new perfect wood in your house, like night and day.

BODYSHOT1 07-05-2007 12:09 PM

Congrats Bill!...best of luck with the "new" boat...

1HYPER1 07-05-2007 01:19 PM

Heres some "progress" As you can see , the floor was useless. Only two sheets of unsealed plywood, with a layer of very porous glass between them. The center stringer is suprisingly rock solid. the outher ones are just skins of f/g filled with wet sawdust. The only good thing is that they are not part of the front and rear stringers. so its pretty easy to replace those.
Bill, thanks for the offer I will definately think about it!

1HYPER1 07-06-2007 08:51 AM

Holy SH** That is alot worse than I ever imagined seeing in that boat, damn dude that sucks.Send those photos to Florida.

VinMan 07-06-2007 09:04 AM

Notice that the tops of the stringers werent glassed. just bare exposed plywood wtf???

1HYPER1 07-06-2007 11:10 AM

That was deffenitly like that from the factory, what a shame.Since you guys have had the boat it has always been completely covered wjth no moisture getting in and that wood is soaked.

BODYSHOT1 07-06-2007 11:57 AM

Damn!...I had to check the thread @ lunch.....

miserable... :(

VinMan 07-06-2007 12:35 PM

Stop b!tchin. At least you had the only solid part of the floor right under you! :D One hard landing , my feet would have went right through the bottom of the hull.

Jigsaw89 07-08-2007 10:39 PM

Hey VinMan & the guys that have done this before:
What type of wood is recommended for the replacement stringers and what is the ideal width prior to encapsulating them in fiberglass?
Thanks!
Dan

DKerns 07-09-2007 12:07 AM

I guess you have to cut weight somewhere in a race boat!! Less fiberglass!!!

1HYPER1 07-09-2007 02:20 PM

A little QUALITY CONTROL and sealer goes a long way
Dean have you gotten your boat wet yet.

Bill, just thought I would make light of the situation. That would have me bent!. I plan taking the boat down on Sunday morning. I think my brother is going to try to go as well. Hopefully all goes well!! Not unhooking the cable from the trailer for a couple of minutes!!!! I think I have all the bugs worked out that I can on the hose. We shall see!
