I Recently (june) Purchased A 2006 Velocity 260.... I Dont Get Out Often Enough, (only 30 Hours On It)... Anyway I Was Out In 3-4 Footers And Noticed In These Conditions I Get A Lot Of Hard Landings... I've Tried Throttling Differently And It Hasnt Improved Much.. Is This Normal? If Not What Are Some Possible Remedies?

Like mike280 said very often faster is smoother. Every situation is different but as you get to know the boat you will find what it likes and learn to read the water. You will also learn different conditions will dictate the ideal speed to run. Trim it to keep it pushing straight ahead and enjoy spending time learning what it likes.

Faster is smoother in many instances, however pushing your 26 through 3-4 foot seas will always result in hard landings unless your in following seas. A possible remedy would be to trade your 260 in on a 360, 390 or 410. Good luck.

trippin... in following seas it was smooth.... I love the remedy but cant quite handle that right now!

the 260 is a fun boat to drive but 4 ft seas is getting a little big to run hard in like everyone said learn the boat it is a drivers boat

Yup - what Mike said, Running hard in 4' seas with a 24' hull is really pushing it and stuffing is a distinct possiblity for a new owner if you're offshore. Unless you can span the waves, you're going to land hard no matter what speed you attack the waves with. Tabs will help keep the nose down and keep the running attitude in check but dropping off a 4' wave will result in a hard landing in a light, 24' hull - and bigger hulls for that matter also truth be told!

Revelocity....havent Stuffed It........... Yet, But Had A 22'checkmate And Although Smaller Seemed To Break Up The Landings A Little More... My Guess Is The "pad" Bottom...?

I ran a 260 for several years in some real nasty stuff, and it needed to be driven, and driven fast. Tabs are a big help. It will tend to dip to the port side, so the sound of the landing makes it seem worse. That boat is like running a dirt bike. When you get it down, you will have a blast and will know just what it is going to do.

You really need to go for a ride with someone that has some seat time in that boat,there are several of us on the board that will be more than happy to show you how to run the boat and always remember to run the boat on the pad but not over trimmed and use the tabs to keep a level attitude and the faster you run the boat in certain conditions the smoother it will feel.It is a drivers boat for sure but it is a very capable boat to handle most water conditions.:cool-smiley-011:PS a 320 with a pair of blower motors flies across those bigger waves nicely and I know of one for sale.
