What do you guys think would be the going rate of a 1995 280 without an engine? Excellent condition boat with a real world price?

Sick Stinger 11-20-2007 01:12 PM

Hey shore who knows with this market going on right now

ThruHull 11-20-2007 01:33 PM

Shore, I would think 15k-20K real world

ThruHull 11-20-2007 01:34 PM

Are you think about selling the engine serperate?

Shore Thing 11-20-2007 03:24 PM

someone asked if i was willing to just sell the hull without the engine. So i figured i should try to figure out what i would want for the hull alone. In that case, yes, I would be thinking about selling the engine separate. Interested?

Not me perosnally. I was actually putting an engine together the same time you were doing yours. I try to keep up with what is available and what it is going for though. Thats why I asked. If you want to shoot me a pm with what you want for it, I will put the word out on this side of the potomac. :ernaehrung004:

That would be me asking.
I had a boat vs. big wave accident and my 24' Superboat came apart. She was totaled by the insurance company but I kept her to salvage the engine along with the rest of the goodies. I have a 502MagMPI that might push a 28' Velocity just fine.
So guys please tell me all about 28' Velocities.
How well to they handle the rough?
My next boat needs to be able to run 60 in 3 footers without making me any shorter than I already am.
Are they built to take a pounding?
During my 5 years of owning my Superboat, I spent thousands in repairs and then she fell apart all together.
Should I start a new thread?
Thanks,

I have a 26 Tbred 1992 hull. It can handle three footers you just need speed. you need the speed to run over the tops of three footers. A 502 mpi in my opinion would be the perfect power choice for economy and performance. It should run in the 70s with ease. There are guys with 600 to over 1000 hp running in the 100s'. I have had mine for two seasons and have had no issues!! Great boats!! Shorething the value of my hull was 17.5K with one outboard 260 running in great shape. Hope that gives you an idea.
