1996 41 Velocity

Does anyone know the boat in the classifieds it's a 96 41' Velocity with 500's bravos and flag graphics.:cool-smiley-011:

If it's the one that has one pic of it at a shop then it's the one that the mechanic claims he was screwed for over $15K+. New/rebuilt engines, drives rebuilt, etc or something like that. Guy paid with a C.C. then disputed the charges telling the C.C. he didn't have any work done on the boat. The mechanic also claimed the transom was wet but the owner didn't want to mess with getting that fixed.

All this seems weird so check it out for yourself. I only heard one side of the story so consider it biased. (There was a thread either here or on Speedwake about that boat)

Check with Frank AKA LS1NOVA,He looked at the boat and was test running it when the engine let loose.I do believe he told me the transom was wet.I dont know for sure but I would certainly check it over and have a survey done.It it does not have a wet transom it is a great buy.

I am very interested in the boat and was checking to see if anyone knew it's history.

It does have a picture of it setting next to a shop with an A-frame behind it.

I thought it was sold a little while back.

Looks like the old Deland Honda Race boat to me, about the right vintage as well. Believe the owners name was Pepper Ernst (spelling?), and was run in a factory class.

Thats it. Then peper built a 39.

Thanks for the info, are you guys sure the transom is wet.

Transom work is no fun.

I swear every boat that my wife and i like has something major wrong with it.

I heard that from a mechanic that claims he was screwed for $15K on that boat....I don't know either party and have no idea if it's true. Just passed along the info so that if you pursue the boat please make sure you have someone test for moisture as well as a complete survey. If the mechanic is correct then the owner would be the type to purposefully hide any issues that may exists.

John.Vaught 11-28-2007 11:23 PM

Hey thanks,

I will have that checked for certain.

Is that a comon problem on a velocity?

Who knows,

If I was out 15,000 dollars I would do what I know best.

I am in Afghanistan for a reason you know. :D

:D

John.Vaught 11-29-2007 04:52 PM

Yeah I looked at your boat, It's really nice but it's about 100,000 over my budget...LOL

ls1nova 12-04-2007 07:34 PM

Did you ever look at it John? Did you get my PM?

Frank

John.Vaught 12-04-2007 07:45 PM

Yes Sir,

I recieved your PM however I haven,t had a chance to look at it because I'm in Afghanistan.

I won't be home for another month.

Do you think that there is enough left there to warrant fixing it?

Thanks

ls1nova 12-04-2007 07:48 PM

Yes, as long as you are able to do the work yourself. Otherwise you could start getting upside down in it real fast!

Frank

Thanks Frank

Send me those items we discussed when you get a chance.

The most fiberglass work I have done is building speaker boxes and filling in gauge holes.

I did fix the nose of an F-117 but I had help.

I looked at the boat "3" yrs ago, You will need to put another 50-70K At Least into this boat to make it right! 20-25K boat Max!
