I owned the first of the 32's to come out of the mold in 1996, now Hypers boat. The problem was that Velocity did not build a dedicated mold for the boat, but instead built it in the 41 mold by moving the transom foreward. The short lived 35 was built in the same manner. The base of the problem was that both suffered from the fact that the pad which they were expected to run on was not the pad portion of the 41 hull design, but a portion further foreward, not large enough to support and balance the boat at speed. Thus the inherent chine walk, which is, by the way, more manageable with the addition of large power. The power allows you to man-handle the boat and run more conservative trim and drive settings, while still attaining speed and control, as opposed to having to run on the edge of any reasonable control. (Hence my name choice of Ragged Edge) R&D and testing is the best money any manufacturer can spend for the benefit, and ultimately the safety, of their customers. The 39, while still made in the 41 hull mold, is reduced in length only by virtue of it's lower profile, it retains the complete, as designed, bottom and pad. And due to it's low profile and center of gravity is a good performing boat. The new 320, '07 - '08 design and earlier of the same, is a recreation of the original 30 of the past, Regal/Velocity days, with a new modern top deck. The old design was a good handling hull, and I understand the new is the same. There you have it, Velocity 101 as I know it, based upon a long term relationship with the line. |
I agree with that, lots of power and conservative trim worked best for me.Over trimming at very high speed just made my boat unstable and tend to get unsafe:cool-smiley-011:

I agree,invatation only.:grinser010:

Are new guys welcome too?.... :drink:

TF You could hold in the Thousand Islands, and disguise it as "capital F" F@U&+A:& Fest!!! ;);) |
Ah I see, You guys want to start nut busting but as soon as you get it back you cant handle it and you break it down into a secret little club like your 5 and its a "i know him so he can come but i dont know you so you cant." Hey guys grow up. By the way Hyper, i enjoy your two face deal, You tell me to call you no prob as you say its "Its just guys razzing". SO I "razz" back and you get your "thongs" all in a bunch. SO much for hey see you down there and the info great bunch of guys we have here. You have my number Bill call me if you think of anythign else youd like to say or do a 180 from what you post on the board. Im not sure its me that needs the growing up. Like i said everyone can type and be Keyboard Cowboys but have the nuts to tell me just give me a ring if you feel so strongly. And just for a 2 cents worth it was one of your own that said most are just Keyboard Cowboys so dont blame that one on me.
-Mike |
There is no 2 face deal here,we are just razzin but I have got to tell you, there are alot of people that do not want to put themselves in a bad situation like someone getting hurt, which is what is going to happen to you if you do not learn to respect that boat of yours,I do not want to see anyone get hurt especially trying to prove a point so the best thing to do is to not put anyone in harms way.Alot of us on here have known each other for many years and have built a trust factor especially at the wheel of our boats. You I am sure will not understand what I am saying or maybe you will I do not know but that is how everyone thinks it should be including the coodinator of the run.
|
Bill its just RAZZING come on get over it, So we cant bust acorns on here anymore is that what you are telling me. You cant tell me how bad i drive or how bad you drive with out getting all bent out of shape, come on its messing around. PM AIRTIME, KNOTRITE, SLBOATDRINKS and there are many more that have boated with me up here. Let me know after that how insane, dumb careless ignorant of lack there of common sense i have with a boat. You need to take a load off or something.
-Mike |
If you guys are that anal and have your belts a couple holes to tight and your trucker hats with the little air holes for vents to small and are cramping your brains then i feel bad for you. Cant have a good time and mess around then hey V-Fest must be great with pocket protectors, high water pants, and silent choice exhaust. Let me twirl my finger and jump up and down for joy at that one. Guys have some fun let loose, but some butt on one another (even though direction is all towards me) but i dont get made im play along. Hey maybe its not the "In Crowd Style" and if not doesnt seem the in crowd is worth being with.
-Mike |
I figured you would not understand, you can razz who ever you want including me,I do not care, all I said was about not getting in to a bad situation.Period
|
Never said there was going to be a bad situation and have no intention of it.
-Mike |
Looks like the party is over!

NO, In reality YOU DO NOT. So, in that I believe I do see clearly where some of these people are comming from, I will explain it to you in simple terms. Your impression of Velocity Fest is that it is some sort of a race event, where in fact in their eyes it is NOT. Your impression is that this event is a public event, that you have some "right" to attend, where in fact it is a private deal between a group of friends, and you might not be wanted at their event. You sound, act, and give the impression that you do not have a grasp on that, and continue to beat away at the fact that you think you are the almighty's gift to power boating, and you intend to try to prove that to all. Your self admitted lack of experience, though you make claims otherwise when it suits you, quite frankly is a source of concern for those who are organizing this event. Along with a percieved lack of any good common sense on your part, blatantly expressed in your own words and posts, also is a huge concern for them. You have, by your own words, given all here the impression that you are totally lacking in any real experience in proper boat handling, and totally lacking the common sense judgement to make a proper choice in the event a situation arises that would require you to do so. By expressing this attitude that you are ten feet tall and bullet proof you have shown them that you, in fact, are someone they would rather not see show up at their event. In that they do not want to see anyone get hurt, even if that happens to be you. NOW DO YOU GET IT??? |
Hey rag um lets see i guess you cant read the above as it said and repeated quote "NUT BUSTING" "RAZZING" as in a joking manner shall i get a dictionary meaning for you or in that small brain of your can you seem to find out how to use one.
-Mike |
D on the contrary it has just begun.
-Mike |
:Whatever:
|
Um good line D think of that all on your own.
-Mike |
Hey bud, you have pretty much come to the end of the line with me. You can take your little rant and shove it up you A$$!! You are the one that has the little "Chemical Imbalance" here. You have "RAZZED and NUT BUSTED" enough people on here. You are such a liability and don't realize it.
YOu arr mOore THan WEllCom TwO Coom ON DouN To NauGHtee GOOce ANyTime AnDD PutT uP Or ShUTT Up! IF YouR Boot Is STiLl RanNinG GoODe BriNG iT Whith YOu! |
What you said makes no sence if my boot is ranning. Help me out on that one dex will you, need a little interpritation. And im more then happy to come down anytime i said that from the start. And by the way i didnt start any of this i mearly busted back from each one of you so dont put this on me as its my fault. Your just a lemming that jumped on the band wagon. And if you want it wont be the end of the line, if you want just play leap frog, the end becaome the begining. As for liability, what cause i bust some cookies here, i did offer to have some one drive my boat at 100 and see if they could do it just to prove a point and maybe hurt some one how about you look in in another direction.
-Mike |
Dude everyone on here knows I made a bet with you knowing you could not run it 100 plus the first time in the boat, you are just nieve enough to take the bet and I am not dumb enough to do it unless you have the money to pay for it when you crash it.The problem is that everyone knows that you have virtually no time behind the wheel of a performance boat yet you know more than anyone here.YOU ARE A LOOSE CANNON and you also have alot of attitude to go with it,the problem is you have not met any of us but you are willing to dig in to our asses with alot of attitude that we know you can not back up.we have busted your balls and you seem to forget that most of us were boating when you were in your moms belly and you do not seem to understand that you can get hurt really bad or even DIE when playing this game So if I was you,and I am glad I am not I would take a good look around and decide if I want to be on the good or bad side of these people because believe it or not most of us have forgotten more about boating than you will ever know and if you want not to believe that just look at our boating accomplishments. With that being said I am pretty sure you still will not understand what is being said and that is when I will say this.:Whatever:
|
Remember it"s always more fun if, your boat is running at the end of the day and ,no one gets hurt.

Dexter is more than happy to interpret for you Sick. Dexter Manley does not discriminate... "You are more than welcome to come on down to the Naughty Goose where I will type this message in horrific grammar and appalling capitalizations to poke fun at your grasp of the english language. And if you're boat is still running good, bring it with you!" |
Ah thankyou dex good man. Hey Hyper try not to use the old ive been doing it longer thing or i have forgot more then you know come on that way to cliche think about it. I dont care about good side or bad side of you. YOu guys joke around and i joke what cant handle it. So i say i can drive better. What cant take a joke now man get the tampons out of you a$$ and relax a bit all fun and games till you get bagged on. You by the way said boat for boat in your wager. And ill try anything once. and twice if i like it. ANd like everyone said THEY DONT EVEN KNOW ME. So how judge some one from not knowing. Because of ball busting? If thats so then everyone is a Grade A Pro driver from what i read on the board. I give back what is givin to me. Im just doing it 2 fold

Could be drive hight, maybe a little to much trim. depends on the prop style weather it be a cleaver style, bravo or hydro style. Have you tried to tab it a bit to straighten it out the lift the tabs to stop the scrub speed
-Mike |
Hey link dont forget about the inward outward rotaion of the props. Which way are you spinning. And i assume #6's on that.
-Mike |

Actually comes from being around these boats for some 13 to 14 years, owning the first of the original design 32, keeping my boat at a marina that was a Velocity dealer, and working in sales for that same dealer, who is a close friend. Along the way having the opportunity to drive each and every model made, except for the newer 36 and the latest version 32. Many of them at speeds approaching, if not exceeding 100 mph. Enough seat time over the years to get a fair handle on what makes them tick, somewhat in sharp contrast to a self-proclaimed hot shoe, don't you think? :D |
