Where are the best places to stay? Any pre-run activities on Friday that we wouldn't want to miss? I saw your 39 at the "Goose" last year for Rock the Bay I believe. I would like to have a 390 at some point. They have that oldschool flatdeck look!:D |

They have that oldschool flatdeck look!:D We're setting up a block of rooms at the hotel near where the Saturday night party will be. I'll give you definite info after the meeting. There will be stuff going on Friday night, details to follow after the meeting!!!!!!!! Next time you see the boat, stop and say "hi". We will be in Northeast for the "Thunder on the Bay" run in June. And again for "Rock the Bay" in September. |

Next time you see the boat, stop and say "hi". We will be in Northeast for the "Thunder on the Bay" run in June. And again for "Rock the Bay" in September. Thank you for the info again. I look forward to hearing from you after the meeting. As for the local events here, I am sure I will make it down to scope out the hardware at both of those events. I will stop to say "Hi"!! |
I hope it's ok to jump in on ths forum since I'm a Baja owner. Is this event the same one as the fun run or poker run that I saw on another web site? Or is this just a Velocity run? I know last year there was a fun run that was in Poker Run America which I think Velocity might have been the main sponsor. My wife and two kids are planning on coming down around July 19 and either try and be part of the event or if nothing else check out all the boat that are in it. I never hae been in a fun run or anything like like but think it would be a blast even if I'm the last boat. If this is a poker run what would the cost be for each boat?
Thanks |

Yes, we are putting it together. Same format as last year, we should have registration up soon. Trying to hammer out the final details. Trying to get everything set up earlier this year. |

Thanks Yes, this is the run that was in PRA magazine. Yes, Velocity is heavily invoved, but all brands are welcome. We call it a fun run simply because it's basically a guided tour of the lake, the poker part happens Saturday night at the party. Don't know for sure of the cost yet, but it will be under $300, I can gaurantee that. You would definitely have a good time. But, like I said before, there will be a lot more details after our April 6th club meeting |
Thanks. I'll keep checking on here plus another site that seems to have a lot of N.C boaters on it.
|
OK I Think we're in. I need the official info for my 15 yr old daughter.
Will there be any other girls that age and will there be boys there that age? OH ......Cute or hot boys. Hanging out with the family is not quite appealing enough. If there are boys there I'll need resumes sent via email..... |

I wish that I had more news to give you. But, unfortunately we have yet to get an answer from "RaceWorld" for the after party. We are on their calender, but still playing phone tag to try and set up another meeting. As a result, we don't have a block of rooms set up yet.
The run is on, so please be patient. As soon as I can give more concrete details I will. |
Velocity 390, Thanks for keeping us in the loop!
|
Just a quick update, to let you guys know that we haven't forgotten about you.
We will be having another club meeting May 4th to hopefully get some final arrangements locked down. Still a lot of phone tag going on. We should have a block of rooms set up very soon. |

Those of you that are interested in this run send me an e-mail and I will give you all of the details that I have so far.
[email protected] We are not ready to advertise it yet because we are still working on some of the smaller details. The run will be Saturday July 19th, with the party at Michael Waltrip's Raceworld shop. For those of you that saw the pics in Powerboat Magazine, it will be the same location. |

Looking to find out information on who will be the host marina for the run .Thanks, Ray
|
There is not a host marina. But if you want to keep your boat at a marina, I can get some names for you.
|
Sounds like a good time. Hope to see you all down there.

I would like to find out where the first and last stops are.We we're talking about boating on friday. For me it might be easier to find a place to tie up for a night or 2 .Loading my boat on its trailer is not something that I do very often , or very well. Thanks, Ray :cool-smiley-011:
|
I'll make a few calls. I'll give you an answer on somewhere to leave the boat in the water, in the next couple of days.
|
This might be a hard question to answer but how far is the run and any idea how much fuel is burned buring the run? I have a 2005 Baja 275 with the 496 mag. We still want to come down and be part of the event but with the price of gas the way it is right now we are guessing fuel alone driving down and back to Indiana plus filling up the boat we would be around $1000 and we don't have a lot of extra cash to spend.
If we can't make it this year hopefully the price will come down and you guys will have the run again next year and we can try to make it. Thanks. |
The run was about 80 miles last year, and will probably be about the same this year. I know a lot of people that barely burned a 1/4 tank, if that.
This is not an all out, on the wood run. Pace boats are in control the whole way. We basically give you a guided tour of the lake, then after the run people can go run the lake or go some where and hang out. |
Thanks, I'll share that with my wife and maybe we will still try to make it.
We've been on the lake once and that was when they had the last raft-up. It's a lot bigger then Lake Wawasee that we boat on. |
How are the Hotel Accomidations. I aim to go down and watch the run and just see what its all about. MikeS told me its a great run. And seeing as the velocity fest isnt happining this will be pretty close to it sounds liek alot of V's will be there.

The host hotel is the Comfort Inn located in Cornelius, NC
Their phone number is 704-896-7622. Rooms are held under "CPBA". The address is 16521 LiverPool Pkwy, Cornelius, NC I believe the rooms are $79 per night and it is across the street from Race World where the Saturday night party will be held. (Michael Waltrips Shop) |
Thanks Steet
