Seat pedestal burst?

Has anyone had this happen? Looks like a frozen pipe burst. Just got the boat. Not sure how to fix this or do I have to replace.

I am sure any qualified welder/fabricator could fix it up like new. Just have it repainted/powder coated when there done and you will never know!! That is pretty strange though!

maybe water got in it and froze over the winter?

Deffitintly frozen. The question is how did water get in there in the first place.
