Velocity 280 w/ shorty????
 

Thinking about switching my Velocity 28' to a shorty 1.36 ratio. i currently have a regular lower 1.50 ratio w/ 28 pitch prop and a 454 mag pushing it. Will this make any difference for my boat???

i tried it and did not like it boat ran no faster and was a ***** to get on plane also you need to stay with a 1.5 even with big power they are faster with a 1.5 unless you are running out of props. i run a 32 pitch now and spin it pretty hard i really need a 34

Hey Mike.. Long time no see. What drive are you running now? I was thinking of going with a shortie..
I am running a standard XR drive with 540 making about 650hp.. Spinning a bravo 26.. hate the prop.. Got a recommendation on a prop you think I should try next? Boat came with a Hydro 24 with 454 motor.. I was thinking of trying a 28 hydro next..
