260 List To Port Side
 

I have noticed that when I run my 260 it lists to the port side and the faster I go the worse it gets has any one ever had this problem? I have tried getting all the weight in the boat to the starboard side (ie) icechest, passengers I am running a bravo one 30p prop that I had redone over the winter and the cable power assist steering any help would be appreciated.

prop tq it should do better once you get up on the pad and keep it there

Run a prop that spins the other direction. A bravo drive can go either direction. You just need to move your shift cables , so they work in the correct direction. Most boats run a right hand prop. Most Formulas and Fountains run a left hand prop to stop this problem. Just a thought. Jeff

I have the same issue.. seems to settle down abit once I get onto the pad.. but never goes away.. I would be curious to know what you find out and decide to do..
p.s. what kinda power are you running to spin a 30p blade? I just went to a hydro p5 26.. jury is still out on it.. 540 motor 660 hp..

Try a LH prop.
The last guy that owned my boat ran a LH with the big power plant. The reason was the the boat would stay on the pad easier.
I run a RH prop with the stock engine and have vary little roll but do use a little more port tab at times. I don't think at 65mph my boat gets close all the way up on the pad.

280's and 260's are set up a little different if they run a left hand prop so going to one may or may not work for him, also if you have big power left hand is harder on the drive as it is running on the top gear of the drive. i run a 32 pitch with over 1000 hp and i run a right hand prop and if you get and keep the boat on the pad it will run flat, when i am just crusing around i drag a little tab . also a good wind coming across the bow will make the boat lean in to the wind again run a little tab

i have always been told about "harder on the drive" Mike. one reason i never wanted to run a LH prop. I can live with adjusting the tab a bit at lower speeds.

hey John i was up for our fun run but have been down on Greenwood a lot this summer, Labor day i broke a drive. I know it is not if but when i just hate it happened this late in the year. Drive was a built xr that i have run for 3 years and i feel if i had had it checked before this summer it would still be fine. I guess a 32 pitch and over 6000 it is not gona last for ever.

I'd say you did well Mike. You should hang it on the wall with a sign, "There is not a part made I can't break", Hee! Seriously 3 years you did good.

I've got a bud with a 1997 29' Fountain running the original stock B1 drive LH for nearly 800hours. The first 500 were behind a 415HP/502, the rest behind a 550HP 525SC rebuild.
He pushes the throttle but does go easy out of the hole and does not fly the boat much.
Add a drive shower to the drive and run LH if the boat performs better.
