Nice boat. To bad it doesn't have a windscreen or trim tabs.

I've actually been talking Dusten about this boat.

How do the water reduced lightning headers work? He said half the water goes through the headers, and the other half dumps outside?


I really like this boat, but when it comes to HI Performance, I know enough to be dangerous. :eek:

Around here, its 87, 89. and 91 octane gas. Will it run ok on 91?

That should have a problem on 89. Nice power drive package. sux no tabs but alway can just add them right. Price looksd nice to I enjoyed mine great boat fast hull.

Sounds like a hell of a deal for someone with cash, you could probably have this boat. and a wndshield, tabs and a nice tube swim platform for under $40,000.00 and run all over the bay with the big boys JMOP....

Very nice rig. Small picts sure dont do it justice.

Power and engine/accessory compenent quality looks great-

As the other guys said no tabs - bummer

The other thing I see is that single ram hydraulic isn't really good enough for a boat this fast and trick.

This will lead to quicker wear of the gimbal ring and existing steering components vs a proper dual ram, or the expensive but cool ITS.

First thing Id do is grab the skeg and pull up hard to see how much play is already there.


Price is right though.

A friend of mine just bought this boat and I looked at it the other day. It is a very nice boat and has a new home in Iowa now. With the small lake boating we do here, he should be alright without tabs and he is excited to get it on the water, all we have to do is wait for a foot of snow to melt. I'll get him on OSO, I'm sure he will have a lot of questions for all you Velocity owners.

Nice boat! I have a couple buddies that have or have had that hull. Does anyone know why Velocity doesn't advertise or sell that model anymore? I wonder if you could get the factory to pop one for you? The 290 I believe has taken its place, but is different altogether? Can any body clarify? Know somone that has a 260 too, in the rough it will rattle your fillings, not as for giving as the 280. I know the extra length is why. The 260 and 280 are still good single engine boats, Personally don't care for the VR1 model...........................................RJ R.................................

I am really excited. Dusten took great care of the boat. Really the only things I have to do are purely cosmetic. I dressed up the engine a little more, installing LED lighting in the cockpit, and bilge, TV/DVD player in the cabin (for the 8y/o) shampoo'd the interior, hit everything with a magic eraser, and 303. Got a few things left to do, and then polish the outside of the boat.

I have some new vinyl being made up as we speak. Like Dave said, if this snow, and ice ever melts I will be water testing. Can't wait!
