Velocity 220 questions
I am going to look at this boat Saturday.
http://www.boattrader.com/listing/20...y-220-96355833 Does anyone know its history? Fair price? My guess is that it will probably run high 60's with that power, but I'm curious about how its ride in some choppy water would compare with an Outlaw 20 or other boats its size. Thanks |
Get the HID number and give the velocity factory a call, they'll be happy to give you some assistance with respect to the layup materials used, potential speed with the installed engine, etc.

i think high 60's even low 70's.
will handle way better than a ol 20 price seems a lil high to me but if it looks as good in person as the photos it might me worth it. the laid up a lot of 22 with bb power so keep that in mind and maybee hold out if the price does not work. |

ya for that price you could go bigger and faster, i piicked up a 2002 260 with a 500 efi for under 25k last summer

Purposely sticking with a 20-23 ft boat this time. Just easier to own, fuel and maintain. I emailed the factory and got a response back from Kenny to call him so that's what I'll do. Thanks for all the input, it's appreciated.

The 22' with a small block is a nice little package and would be on my list of boats to check out if/when I do sell my 26'/280. |
i know this one is a few years older but it sure looks nice and man what a dealhttp://forums.boatfreaks.org/showthread.php?t=15035

IMO I don't see that much difference in owning and maintaining a 280 vs a 220. I have had both a Velocity (Regal)23 and now have a 280 and I would go for the 280. More room better ride etc. The size of the truck to haul it, if needed, could make the difference.
The first 220 seems somewhat pricey in today's market. The one Mikes 280 posted about would be worth investigating. Again just my opinion, |
