Prop for 22 Velocity???
Have a stock 454 EFI using a Hydromotive 4-blade 24p. Blowsout easily when coming on plane. With adults sitting in the back its almost impossible to bring on plane. Any recommedations?? Bravo??
Thanks everyone. Wade P.S. Once on plane she screamsandflys. |
I HAVE 1996 VELOCITY 220 WITH A 454/330. IT HAS A FEW MODIFICATIONS, BUT FOR THE MOST PART IT IS STOCK.
I RAN THE 24p 4 BLADE ABOUT THREE TIMES BEFORE SWITCHING. I AM CURRENTLY RUNNING A 26p 3 BLADE FROM SPINELLI. I DO NOT HAVE ANY BOTTOM END BLOW OUT PROBLEMS AND GAINED 3MPH ON TOP END. I WILL BE TRYING A NEW BRAVO 26 LAB FINISH WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK OR SO. I WILL POST MY RESULTS AFTER I RUN. FROM EVERYTHING I HAVE READ AND HEARD, A BRAVO IS THE WAY TO GO FOR THE VELOCITY. |
Just ordered prop from Scott at velocity. A labbed bravo 26p. He also said that's the way to go.

Waden 54, I'm anxious to hear about your success with the 26" Bravo. Please let us know your speed, rpm and handling experience.
I've run a 26" Hydromotive with the diffuser ring added and planing is much better now with my 22 Velocity. I talked to Scott about modifying my as yet untested Bravo 26" that is lab finished by Mercury High Performance. After I get a baseline run I'll consider sending it to Velocity/Hall for their further refinement for the Velocity application. I may need to step up to a 28" for my 464 hp (dyno) engine. Good luck! |
Bravo Prop
If it ever warms up and stops snowing and raining, I'll get it in the water for a test and let you'all know how it is.
