39 - "Enforcer"
Any one have any info on the boat? What kind of numbers does it run with the 500's? What will it take to get a in the triple digits?
|
boat runs in the low 90s set up wright. pro chargers would push it over 100 mph.
|
How do these do in the rough stuff? Rough stuff being very large cruiser wakes on LOTO and GLOC- I really enjoy my 35 Fountain but am thinking about going to a no frills poker runner. I have always liked the looks, but never been on one.
Thank you for the info. |
Do you know what drives are on it? I am guessing Bravos with the 500's.
|
Ya it has reg. bravo,s and yes they ride good . But you have to drive them. the 390 will out run a 35 fountain with the same power in big water

Not so sure on that one. Ran a 390 in the TI Poker Run years back and had my azz handed to me by a 35 Fountain all day when it got mixed up. And yes I can wheel a Velocity, had a 32 that ran close to 100 for some eight years. |

I belive the 390 is the same running surface as the 410 , just with the deck cut down . My 410 ran great in rough water , it's was a fun boat .
|
The guy who bought the 390 now Enforcer that was originally cgs ferocious f2 boat. had a 09 35 Fountain stag 525's. He said the 390 rode 10 times bettor than the 35 fountain. I run a friends 38 fountain 525 stag boat all the time and the 390 rides bettor and turns way way bettor. Don't forget a 35 fountain is only 31-32 feet of running serfice. I tied up to a few 38,s and a 390 looks way bigger.

I looked at that boat in Fla this past Feb. It could be got then for a super deal.
|
a 39 velocity will eat a 35 fountains lunch in rough water if the wheel man in the velocity knows what he is doing , just saying.
|
A friend of mine owned it for a bit up on lake Norman. ran 92 mph needed prop work.

Go back to the sorry ass fountian form raggad edge I have handed every fountian there ASS in the last 25 years of owning a VELOCITY that I ever ran across and that has been plenty. A 22' A 26' And A 41' O raced a 30' never got passed buy a fountian. Bring that 92 mph fountian down to MD so we can end your BS. DON"T BE SCARED . O and your old boat never ran close to 100 mph.:evilb:
I'm sure, that's why all the records and trophys are in Stepps office. Steve has had his share of sucess, but check the records, not even close. Far as my old boat, I said close. New owner has claimed well over on here and for some strange reason you never call him out on the number. I've never claimed to have run "over". I might still own the boat had it not been for the chit workmanship that caused the transom to turn to mush. Ask Hyper if he did not fix that. Had lots of good times in the Velocity. Wanted a Fountain when I bought it but just could not afford to do so. Got what I paid for and was fortunate enough to be able to make the move years later. Looking back, no regrets, like I said, had a lot of fun with the boat. And I supprised a lot of Fountains back then as well. |
Reggie's office was full of trophy's that cost him plenty , or should I say his investors . :lolhit:

Give you that, one of the major reasons he lost the whole deal. The race budget was one big nut. |

When / If you ever get one feel free to bring it on up. Should I book you a slip soon? |
Ran there and ran buy a bunch of 35,s and 38,s enough that they came over to the doc to see what was in my 390. NYC poker run 2005 rainy ****ty day. I run a new 38 fountain 525s full stag. rides nice. I have done a lot of runs and never ever ever been out run buy any boat with the same power larger or smaller. 390 500 efi,s 5 blade 27 hydro,s 88 mph. no bs. I ran with the fountain man him self at his factory in NC. And out ran a new 35 with 500,s in Fountains own poker run. HE WASNT REAL HAPPY!!

Mikes 280 pretty much covered it. Reggie lost his company because of his ego. He could not stand to get BEAT. His boats got plenty of ASS WIPPINGs even in his on back yard by VELOCITY'S................................ I'm sure there are plenty of fountians out there with mushy transomes............ I'm glad you own a fountian, because we don't want you. Go back over where you belong. :lolhit:

At one time there were quite a few Velocity owners up around here. Pretty tight group, did a lot of boating and runs together, was a part of it as well. The one thing that I never fully understood was the general feeling amoungst the group that all other brands were chit, and the owners were the same. More than a decade later the general attitude seems to be the same. Never understood it then, still don't. Maybe you guys can explain that to me.

Maybe true, but you have yet to answer the question I put forth. I have never met an owner of any brand that hates Velocity guys soley based on the brand they own. So you explain it to me, just so I understand where you're comming from. |
You are the problem coming on here and boasting about your Fountain and how inferior your Velocity was . How that production thing was your dream boat . No one wants to hear you disrespect their brand of boat as you often do here . I think the problems aren't with brands as much as it is some of their owners . If I go on the Fountain forum and rag on their boats , I wouldn't expect a warm welcome from them . Don't be so suprised that people here seem to be hostile toward you after the crap you write . :lolhit:
|
Thanks for the info guys. I wasn't trying to start a chit storm. Just wanted to get some info on the boat and am trying to learn about Velocity's in general. I enjoy my 35, it is fun to drive and is easy to get around with. I am looking at the different options out there for my next purchase. It doesn't sound like I could go wrong with the "Enforcer" for a full tilt poker run boat.
|
With that Velocity someone has spent a lot of time and money to dail it in for max speed without a lot of power . It was custom built light to be a race boat and rigged to go fast offshore . Should be a fun rough water boat if you don't need a cabin . Rumor is it can be bought reasonable .
|
Thanks - that is the big question, do I need a cabin or does it make sense to have a 39 foot boat without a cabin? Most of the time my cabin is just for storage.
|
Not having a cabin is hurting the resale , bravos will limit how much power not the hull . My guess is if you modify the motors up to 650's you should get around the speed you seek without killing the drives .
|
The x is low in that boat so a 1 inch shortly and a 5 blade would put it in the mid to high 90's and with a head and cam kit to put the 500,s up to 600-650 hp 100 -105mph is absolutely obtainable.

For the record there V22 the MAINSHIP was the "WIFES" boat she just needed me to be the captain because of the sheer size of it. "I" wanted to buy your 280 and i allmost had her talked into it when she found the MainShip online. Since we moved to FLA the plans have changed a bit.
