On Friday I picked up our new to us Velocity 30, Limoncello, from Velocity. The Velocity folks did great work for us and were a pleasure to deal with. Steve, Kenny, Kim, Mike and others went beyond simply fixing or completing the agreed upon projects, but where there were small additional problems that were identified in the course of the work, they dealt with them. As requested, Steve ran the boat and got 72 at 6,000 bouncing of the rev limiter (Merc Racing 250 XS engines) with the motors only trimmed to about flat. SS says we (a) need more prop, and, (b) then experiment with bringing the motors up a in very small increments.
We spent Saturday cruising around Port Royal Sound and down to Daufuskie Island and the boat exceeded expectations. Like any new boat, there are some things that need fine-tuning, but that is part of the adventure.
