I know velocities are very fast hulls, seems kind of underpowered? Im not familiar with the 390 hull but I was thinking 500's or 525's at the very least? Just asking

mikes280 09-09-2012 09:52 AM

They have multiple locations. It's been years but I've bought boats from Ft Lauderdale and Cleveland locations.

Ever deal with them!!! They are genuine ASS H---S.Never give you a honest answer. They are not worried about selling any boats, They make there money off of the storage on the boats>Been there done that. JOHN SR

That looks like the one All Pro had for a while, heck I drove that one well past 80 but it had 500's, don't think 496's were available then? "I have much more info. if that's the same boat"!!!

sonickevin95 09-10-2012 05:09 PM

I know it had 500 EFI's in it when Velocity Tom owned it. There was even a Hot Boat test published on it ~ Spring 2000 or 2001 I think.

DanG 09-13-2012 04:36 PM

Where is this located? I know the boat from seing at some point in time. I would like to go take a look at it if it is still available?

My buddy has a single 496ho with somewheres in the neighborhood of 7-800 hours also with almost zero issues and he runs the living hell out of it. I had a few minor issues with mine with less then 300 hours and I ran it much easier then him. Go figure? Very reliable power and they sound great also. As a matter of fact my friends is for sale on boat trader, I would recommend it to anyone lookin for a 280 velocity it runs real strong.

sonickevin95 09-13-2012 06:08 PM

true 70 mph any day of the week with low 70's in right conditions and it cruises at 50 ish. which I think is great for that boat with mild power.

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o38764-en.html Why would anyone not take a look at this boat if they were interested in that one? Its bin for sale for weeeellllll over a year and its newer with bigger stock merc power.

macjazzy 09-13-2012 10:36 PM

What is the ride like on the 390? Does it have the pad bottom like the smaller Velocities? I have heard (second or third hand, admittedly) that getting those boats up on the pad and running them there feels a bit like driving on ice. Any truth there?

notda1 09-16-2012 08:23 PM

The 41 has the same bottom , and my old one rode excellent in rough water . They can be a lot of fun in the turns to . :cool-smiley-011:
