LTB Performance and Velocity Powerboats, Two Class Acts all the Way!!!

I was down at Daytona this week for Bike Week and made a point to make a side trip to look at a used Velocity that Kenny Hohwiesner was listing with his company LTB Performance. I’ve talked to Kenny before but we never met. I also called him on short notice at about 8am and wasn’t sure how that would be received. Kenny could not have been any more accommodating and gracious. He told me he had some business at the Velocity plant and to come right on out. I made the quick trip over to Sanford and met Kenny an hour later. Kenny is just a great guy and his knowledge of Velocity boats and the marine industry in general is amazing. He took a lot of time out of his busy day to drive me out to check on the boat that peaked my interest, a 30 SUB with twin Verados. A very cool boat for us aging fools. LOL Upon our return to the Velocity facility I was expecting a hand shake and hasta la vista but Kenny surprised me and offered a tour of the Velocity facility which I immediately jumped at. The new digs are in a quiet industrial area tucked away conveniently 1 minute off a major highway near the Sanford airport. Walking the floor, Kenny pointed out several boats in various stages of production and explained the Velocity build process. The CC’s are the new hot sellers so the production line was majority CC’s however there was a couple other cool projects underway and many of the molds were in various stages of lamination. Then I really got the surprise of the day and was introduced to the man himself, Steve Stepp. Steve could not have been more welcoming and took several moments out of his busy day to chat. Steve was personally over seeing a really cool side project and was hands on all the way with the build. Kenny then led me over to the corporate office and I was introduced to Scott Tubbs, the Vice President of Sales and Marketing. You figure with a VP title you’d meet some stuffed suit but Scott was just as welcoming and down to earth as the rest of the Velocity team. Scott took time out to chat about some projects and like any good salesman we chatted about my 24 Pantera and stepping into a new Velocity. All told Kenny spent over 2 hours of his time showing me and chatting about boats. It was very cool to see Velocity and the production line. If you’re seriuos about your boats and ever have the opportunity to stop by, I’m sure you’ll get the same VIP treatment I got. Thanks Kenny and the Velocity Team!
