Few more from this week. Motors should be wrapped up very soon, and will be onto the dyno and then dropped back in.

Stopped by Bruce Baker's shop today and was able to snap a picture of one of mine... Just needs a little buttoning up...

Looks great and going together nicely- you should be set for several good seasons.
|
Picked up the drives today! They look like new. New decals should be here any day...

First motor hit the Dyno today.
438hp at 5000 rpm (with stock computers that's as high as we could run it). 508 ft lbs of torque at 3700. Not bad for bone stock. Plus, we only did the top ends. Bottoms have 380 hours. |
Nice.
Who did the drives? |
Colabella inspected them for me and he has a guy in the same complex that painted them.
|
Looking good! Hope you will be in the water soon!

A couple new gauges and and a new steering filter...
Second engine should go on the dyno tomorrow, and they both should get dropped in next week. Only questionable item are the new exhaust tails. Will most likely need to modify them slightly to fit thru the existing exhaust holes. http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...psfvzygcno.jpg http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...psb7ufd3jw.jpg |
looks like Kenny is doing a real nice job as usual, took my back to him a couple of years ago for some engine mods he did a great job and some nice updates.
|
Hatch is almost done! Motors should be dropped in next week.

Going to be in the water soon!

Stopped by the boat today. Have to tweak the new risers ever so slightly but shouldn't be too difficult. Just have to adjust the flanges about a 1/2". Other than that, other drive has to be mounted, fresh water flush quick connects plumbed in and batteries set. Then drop the hatch on and test. Labor Day might be a boating day for us yet!
|
Dad Z sure hopes that you are in the water on Labor Day.
|
Both drives on. Had to make some slight adjustments to the exhaust which we'll be working on tomorrow night. If all goes well we may be testing this weekend!

Exhaust is done, and hatch is complete which is the last of the big items... Should be ready to fire off late today or tomorrow am!

Looking good And done quickly. Kenny must have a good team working with you.

Ziemer,
Do you still have the one set of SM exhaust for sale? Anything salvageable from the other set? I need to replace my Gil risers and thinking the upgrade to SM would be nice. Thanks, Rick |

Let us know how it runs!

Rescheduled until tomorrow. Florida weather didn't want to cooperate. Ugh...

Boat is done! Ran the boat this morning with 3 of us in the boat and without even trying ran 78 mph. (My engine guys Ipad actually read 81!)
Got the hatch on and everything buttoned up and got her back home today. Kenny did an amazing job and the boat came out great! I've got a couple stickers to add to the drives and I need to order some flappers, but other than that it's 100%. Over the next year, we'll re-skin the balance of the interior to match the work Brian Roberti did on the hatch and the boat will show like new. Bruce Baker with Express Engines is a perfectionist, and I couldn't be happier with his work. And even though we left the motors completely stock, I was treated just the same as those with the big dollar high HP motors that are much more frequent through his shop. Here's a few pics from today and the last bits of the project. http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...shqcpuwgp.jpeg http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...skablpjmi.jpeg http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...s27dlcr4z.jpeg |

She lookscas good as she runs! Congrats!

Jeff's Velocity sure looks great. The workmanship by Kenny H and Bruce B is first class. It sure was nice to see it running again.
|
The two lines coming up that go to some type of fitting. Is that for oil changes?
Good to hear it's done, looks good. |
The 2 Hoses that go into a white box on the bulk head is a hi volume fresh water flush tied into the sea strainers with valves so it can be flushed in salt water. Kenny
|
We did install hoses on the bottom of the oil pans for oil changes they are secured to the front of the motors
|
Cool Kenny,
Thanks. |
Glad to hear your back on the water. Looks great!
|
looks good and good luck with it.
do not take this wrong but only as good advice - on your wiring and the crimps I would have used heat shrink crimps or you can put heat shrink sleeves over the exposed portion and use a hair dryer to seal it or use liquid neoprene - I would do this on all crimped connections that are exposed. - even ground wiring and all cables if not already done. Not only it seals the wires to the crimp from moisture & corrosion - it also helps to keep the wire in place rather than an open crimp. . just saying and again solid advice especially being Florida and any salt water boating that might take place. . |

Went for a quick ride today with my boy and we now officially have an 80 mph boat. Gonna send the props out this winter as we were on the limiters and I think there might be another mile or two in it.
