The 28 is a 26 with a swim platform. I think the 29 is a bit different. I believe the VR is a stripped down version, makes it lighter. I'm sure someone will chime in on the VR29

As I understand it, the VR1 and the VR29 weekender share the same Hull profiles with the top deck moulding raised for the weekender to allow more headroom in the cabin. This will probably add a little weight penalty over the VR1.

Correct. The VR1 comes in at 4300lbs. 290SC roughly 400 lbs heavier. Both 22* deadrise, conventional lifting strakes with a 3" high notched transom. 1' wide pad. Pad is offset 6.5" to port of keel and 5.5" to starboard to offset the right hand turning prop. It is a very fast hull. Mine runs 73-75 with 425hp.

I had a 1998 260 26' with 720 HP and B-Max drive and it would run right at 94.8 GPS

I have a 280 with a stock 502 and a whipple, bravo drive and a labed 29. It has run 78 gps full of fuel and coolers. I just got it but I really think it will run 82-83 in the right conditions.
