I'm rather keen on your first suggestion.
You can have many seasons of economical trouble free boating. Have a look at anyone's engine hours scan sheet and see how little time they actually spend at high revs.

I'm probably in the minority but stock factory power is reliable and gets my vote every time. :)

Nice looking boat, congrats!

Don't know yet.. Just got it home from LOTO, took it out for a quick spin, then had to leave it in the driveway and head out of town for work for the next week :(

Congrats! I like the colors on your 290. I've kept mine relatively stock due to limited time to use it. 496HO is turn key boating when maintained right.

Keep it stock? , drink light beer , dont use too much salt on your food , date / marry a sturdy girl-not a hottie . The women / boats I had the most fun with were the ones that made me call in sick...

RogerThat99 09-09-2016 02:49 PM

congrats on the purchase, welcome to the Velocity club. That is a great looking boat. Did you contact me on RDP about buying a 290? Somebody did, but it was a different screen name.

That one will make you miss a week!!!

90profx 09-10-2016 04:42 AM

Congrat's on the new boat, beautiful color scheme too. I'd vote for reliability. My thought is.......there's always going to be someone faster so why bother blowing the coin unless you already have all the parts needed on standby. More power generally means a shorter engine life and the expense of keeping a spare drive ready for a swap out........:D

fatherb68 09-13-2016 08:56 PM

If you put that motor in the boat, please let me know first. I want to buy stock in the Mercury drive division . And buy a life insurance plan on you.:party-smiley-004:
