Velocity Size
Can someone help clarify the boat lengths How many sizes did they actually make the 240, 260, 280 VR1 some have a molded platform some dont?

Models and Length
220 = 22' 260 = 24' + add on swim platform 280 = 26' + add on swim platform (same as the pre-1998 26' Velocity/Thoroughbreds) 290 = 26+' + molded swim platform (VR1 is very close) |
Thanks for posting that, I didn't realize the 280 or 290 were only 26ft hulls with different swim platforms.

With the 1998 model year Steve Stepp began using the boat's overall length, as customary in the industry, for the model designation. As you might assume, the 290/VR1 used the 280 hull (26' 7" long if memory serves me) as starting point for developing the new hulls. Pretty sure the new decks' development didn't leverage the legacy 280 deck. The VR1 model came out first for APBA racing (mid 2002) followed by the 290 as it's deck took a lot more time to develop given it's broader market objectives.

From what I understand there are also multiple 32's. Any info on the 39 and 41?

The original 30' Velocity and 322 share the same hull - different decks. The 320 was cut down from the 410 to a 30 foot hull length.
The 390 and 410 share the same hull running surface however the 390 hull sides were cut down (for Lower freeboard) reducing the overall length to 39+'. |
