Velocity 30 race

Hi. Just about starting to refit an early 80s.Velocity 30 race deck.
current set up 502 EFI on 72c uprated 9plate. TRS upper and speedmaster II lower units.
1.5:1 ratio
I’m looking to remove the running gear and use Bravo 1. The speedmaster and TRS and just getting to old.
the TRS are very tall compared to the Bravo. (Not purchased bravos yet)
so engines look like they may have to drop 8-10 inch. There is enough on the sumps to do so.
what is the best X dimensions measurements to run Bravo 1 ? Cav plate compared to pad. Or step of the Velocity.
boat will hopefully be raced in the UK 2025. I raced it before. But have just bought. So new to me and my dad. Father son refit project

I would call or email Scott McCormick at Velocity. Velocity has always been great about helping owners.

Good luck and post pics

Bravo X-Demension

what bravo drives? makes a difference. standard drives, highest i would go, would be 17 1/4" with no other source of water intake. other bravo's, with no additional pickups & strainers, can go higher. settle on which bravo's you want, buy them & the transom plates. then your question can be accurately answered. there are different transom plates as well.

moving the engines back changes the center of gravity alot and needs to be considered

it does your right. But I’ll also be taking out a lot of weight right over the rear. 72c gearboxes are heavy. Trs shields and drives more than bravo. And I’m possibly going to go ally heads. So yes engines will go back 14 / 15 inches. But a lot of weight loss also.

all depends what we can source. Probably standard bravo 1
had a good reply with measurements from Scott at Velocity.
so I have something to work with. First off I will re do the transom. Blank canvas.

Boat underway. Stripped out. Have sourced a pair of Bravo 1 XR drives. Will run through hull water scoop pick ups and. Use the drive nose cone pick ups to divert back to a shower. Scott from Velocity has said 34inch centres. 18.5 inch x dimensions height.
