Who was taking pics at Velocity Fest?
Anybody have any pics from last weekend? I was a little busy dodging trees & pilings to be able to take any
I'd love to see some pics of people flying across that 1' chop in the bay. :drink: :drink: |

I didn't have my zoom lense with me to pull you guys in closer ( you were so far behind) :D :D Just kidding.....I was holding on for dear life in spots...left hand was numb from death grippin' and the right was attempting to take pictures, my love for life won out and the camera went into the cabin!! :drink: Love the name!!!

Re: Who was taking pics at Velocity Fest?
Well as usual the resident photographer came through. Good pics John!
I was on my way to the Goose to see you guys I was at the mouth of the C&D at 6:45 when I saw my friend in his '66 Cris Craft. I passed him and turned around to say "HI". At the moment I passed him the prop shaft came loose and fell out of his boat. He was dead in the water in the center of the shipping channel. He was taking on water faster than his two pumps could pump it out... We hooked him up and pulled him out of the channel unloaded his guests and plugged the hole. Well after two hours of towing him to Turkey points ramp I was ready to go home... Sorry I missed you guys :( On the upside, one my new passengers had the biggest set of bolt-ons I think I've ever seen ( besides at a nudie bar ;) ) Katywompus, I saw you on Sunday trailering home. You were pulling into the gas station on RT 40. She looks real good! I was going to stop and introduce my self but I figured you were ready to get home... maybe next time SOX |
Re: Who was taking pics at Velocity Fest?
I'll have to hook up with some of you guys before the season's over. For the next couple of weeks I can't leave town (wife's expecting). I plan on making a few more trips to the Chesapeake shortly after though.

Re: Who was taking pics at Velocity Fest?
Hey Katywompus I did not realize that you were the guy I gave directions to get to Delaware City.I appologize for not introducing myself, give me a buzz and let me know when you will be coming back down this way and we will get together, hopefully I will have the boat back together in a couple of weeks after hitting that submerged tree last week.Good look to you and your wife on the little one on the way.

Re: Who was taking pics at Velocity Fest?
1HYPER1, Thanks, I'll get ahold of you in a couple of weeks. So what was the extent of the damage when you hit the tree?
We got lucky as far as hitting anything large but I did notice some blue paint on my outdrive, weird huh? Don |
Re: Who was taking pics at Velocity Fest?
Blue paint on the drives?!!! I saw a blue plastic barrel floating around that day that was all!!

Re: Who was taking pics at Velocity Fest?
:stupid: 2 Drives, transom assemblies,2 propellers,1 drive shower and alot of work will have me going in a couple weeks. It is hard to imagine that a tree can do so much damage when it is 6 or 8 inches under the water,it sucks but what are :stupid: you going to do but fix it,I have found and ordered all of the parts and I am just waiting for them to arrive,I should be ready in a week or so hopefully and I am looking foreward to some more good boating and not anymore damaged parts from excessive rain causing excessive crap like trees in the water to damage everybodies equipment,PS the upper Chesapeake is not normally so ruff ,so I hope more people will come out next year and enjoy the upper part of the bay and all it has to offer.
