Velocity/Mercury wiring color codes?
 

I recently purchased a 1998 Velocity 24 with a 454 Mag EFI.

The electric drive trim gauge does not work and the previous owner claimed that it never worked for him. Since the back of the gauges are not accessible (or visible) I started at the drive end. The trim limit sender is connected to the ECU wiring harness but the wires coming from the trim indicator sending unit are neatly coiled and tied off below the distributor and are not connected to anything. That is obviously the problem but I cannot find any corresponding "loose" wires where they should be connected. Can anybody give me a clue as to what color(s) I should be looking for??

I could take the dash apart, to gain access to the rear of the gauges, but that would be a lot of work for something that is almost certainly consistently color coded by Merc & Velocity.

Anybody have any ideas??

Found it! The connector just fell below the motor.
