I'm almost scared to ask , how much ?
also , is it large oval intake ports or rectangular on the intake ?
i guess i would be ok with a 250 , if i under drive it a bit , would probably actually help to keep intake temps down right ?
i would definatly need a single carb plate for it

For marine application 454 you want the B&M 250. You end up spinning a 177 fast and creating heat. 142/144 is a small block blower. You don't really underdriive the B&M 250 blowers, you just overdrive them different amounts.

You can run the square port intake with the oval port heads, lots of people do it without a problem. My buddy ran a pair of naturally aspirated 454 with ovalport heads and a square intakes for 5 years on his cigarette.
Read a bunch in the tech archives before you spend any money.
good luck.
