Small blower , supercharger
testing the waters a little , see whats out there
142/144 or 174/177 series blower , i have large oval heads (uncommon) but for the right price i might by an intake or procharger setup with a carb hat |
I just got 2 250's back from the blower shop fresh rebuilds and polish.

only lookin for one , if it was a 250 blower , does it have the top for single carb ? , what kinda intake ? |

Get a hold of Joe V on the board he has a smaller sized blower perfect for that App.

I have polished b/m 250 with 2 nickerson carbs, linkage, fuel regulator, fuel lines, intake, assorted upper pulleys, cross over, and lower pulley and of course belt. rougly 5hrs on it after refresh i haved owned this set up since new

also , is it large oval intake ports or rectangular on the intake ? i guess i would be ok with a 250 , if i under drive it a bit , would probably actually help to keep intake temps down right ? i would definatly need a single carb plate for it |
For marine application 454 you want the B&M 250. You end up spinning a 177 fast and creating heat. 142/144 is a small block blower. You don't really underdriive the B&M 250 blowers, you just overdrive them different amounts.
You can run the square port intake with the oval port heads, lots of people do it without a problem. My buddy ran a pair of naturally aspirated 454 with ovalport heads and a square intakes for 5 years on his cigarette. Read a bunch in the tech archives before you spend any money. good luck. |
