ok i know this is a long shot but i figure most of us are motor heads so i figured I'd toss this out and see if anyone might have a pair laying around from another project. I have a 350 TPI that i am shoe horning in my Blazer and I'm looking for a pair of valve covers that came on late eighties Vettes, the aluminum ones off the tune port motors. My engine came from a donor Camaro and has stamped steel ones (they suck lol) Heres a pic like what I'm lookin for, thanks

Hi Dave - Wouldn't you know I have two sets of the cast big block covers? I play with Vettes as well, I'll call my buddy Tom and see if he has a set.

Thanks Barry, let me know. Late model Vette drive trains are great to reto into other stuff. Funny thing I was working at a GM dealership in 85 when TPI fuel injection came out. I pulled a brand new Vette in the service bay opened the hood and the first words out of my mouth were "OMG . . . how the hell are we ever supposed to work on that . . . this is the end of street roding . . . " Little did i know it was just the beginning. After this project i am thinking LS1/6spd in my 71 Trans Am (nobody worry . . . it was originally a base Firebird before i started on it. Super clean shell though with zero (and i mean zero) rust)

heres pics of my 71 Camaro, wanting to do a similar install on a 2wd 96 S10 Blazer to make a cool little shop truck. (for some reason i cant post pics from my office laptop)

Dave - I'll be off line till Sunday, but should have a pair located for you by then.

I hear you on the shock of the original look, I had an 87 convertible. I had to replace intake gaskets. That, as you know calls for a total disassembly of the injector set up. You'd be proud of me, I did in in 80% of the shop hours set by GM. And I'm a computer analyst! LOL

Nice, they actually are very easy to work on. I will never run a carb again on anything i build. Its well worth the initial up front cost. Heck when i did my Camaro i had the car completly assembled except wiring the engine and injection system. I started wiring about nine in the morning and was on my first test spin by about 1:30. After setting the base timing i never touched it again, ran flawlessly all the time. Thanks for the help

How are you going to get the 34 back in the water if you keep messing with these wheeled thingings lol

Dave - I talked to two of my buddies, they didn't have anything that late, but both have a set of early 70's LT1 vavle covers, one set is NOS. Let me know if you are interested.

Dave - There is a Corvette Web site called Corvette Forum (I don't have the URL on this PC) Nice group of guys and if you go to the C4 section of the forum I'm sure someone will have a pair if you ask.
