Default Project Boat

Im looking for a 1990 or newer 28' to 30' go fast boat and trailer that needs some tlc and power. Would prefer it to have the outdrives but not a deal breaker if it doesn't. I want to get a project that I can work on with my son and have ready by the summer of 2013. I have 3000.00 and I live in Oklahoma and will drive up to 10 hours if it is worth it. Please let me know if you or anyone you know might have one. Thanks

So you are looking for a 30’ boat with working trailer so that you can get it home and newer than 90 so Bravo outdrive that can be ready to go by 2013? Sign me up for two of them if you find them! Good luck, you are going to have a great time when you do find the right one. This is the same thing my dad and I did and now I hate him for it because I can’t stop buying project boats to rebuild and sell. I know this is # 1. Older than what you asked for and 2. smaller but you could easily have it cleaned up and running this summer then sell it for more so that you can step up each time.

It's worth a look!

Ben,
Like everyone else has stated just a trailer that size in good shape is worth what you are looking to pay. You are better off saving more $$ or buying something much smaller.
I have a great deal for someone it is a 89 Eliminator daytona was rerigged in 2001 with newer 502's it has two and bravo drives, it sits on a triple axle trailer and needs small clean up work from sitting.
You and your son will get more enjoyment out of a more balanced work play type project, like the saying all work and no play make a project really suck.
I am only selling mine for 25,000 and would be useable this summer, I have pic's in swap section.

Good Luck with your search.

It is very tough to find a (good) boat for the starting price that you have asked. This is one that was for sale earlier and I don’t know if it is still there but her you go. Good luck!

31 ft scarab viper project - $3500 (Dickinson) http://houston.craigslist.org/boa/2849411039.html

I have a 1991 rare go fast boat for sale. I bought from a friend with intentions of putting it together but dont have the time. The hull is in good shape and set up for twin big blocks. The drives are bravo 1 performence series and need to be gone through. This is a project and needs work. It needs some cleaning again. I am selling it for the price of the drives and the trailer. The trailer is a mcclain gavanized twin axle trailer. I have redone the trailer besides the brakes. You can reach me at 2819358978. I do have titles for the boat and the trailer. I dont have to sell it but it is a good opportunity for someone that is a do-it-yourselfer.

That Scarab fits your needs but its going to take some serious coin to get back in the water! Start saving those pennies!

Default project

Save your pennies and buy a runner that needs help
i bought a '89 28ft single for 500 in the same shape- 3 yrs later its still on blocks and its scary how fast it adds up.
Re-do transom
engine
drive
paint
gauges, etc........
For what ive spent i could have bought a runner needing tlc
Ive got a nice old 24', on nice trailer (not the one in pic)that just needs assembly, but im in Maine. em me
