looking for a set prop holders for mounting in bilge area

I've been looking too. The boat I picked up in October has two broken remnants of plastic ones - clearly plastic doesn't work.

I found StainlessMarine has them for $129 ea, and Birdsall Marine @ $89 ea.

Could a machine shop weld something together a lot cheaper (I mean "less expensively")?

I have two new ones, cast aluminum bases and stainless shafts with quick release pins. They may be Kiekhaeffer or Mercruiser.
