Need Ignition and wiring harness
 

When I got my 22 Velocity it had a 454 MPI that needed some work. I just pulled it to replace it with my 468 carb'd motor that I know is ok. I need a engine wiring harness for a BBC carb'd engine since I don't want to start hacking on the EFI harness. I also need a MSD box, mine got burnt when my last boat caught on fire. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Dont cut on the harness...just use the connections that you need and tape and tie all the other stuff up. I have done this many times. Mercruiser wants something like $360.00 for a wiring harness like you want for a carbed BBC...way out of line on the price for some wires.

I thought about that but I didn't know if having the extra connectors not hooked up would cause other items to not work properly. If my wiring harness will work I'm all for re-using it.

Everything will work with no issues...you're good.

I just did the same thing on my 2 motors, everything is good. If you have trouble with the alarm circuit after you finish let me know and I'll guide you thru that roadblock.

After talking to a few a people I have decided to run the stock ignition system and try the MPI harness. Smoking gun if I have any issues I will PM you to get your harness. Sonic what did you do to get around the roadblock? When I was talking to some friends this weekend they questioned whether not having all the connectors hooked up would put it in guardian mode and I guess after your post its possible.
